In the face of death and dragons, only the brave will endure…

Fifteen-year-old Dayie’s daring climb to steal a dragon egg takes a shocking turn when the egg hatches before she can return home. Now, she must keep the fiery young hatchling hidden—or risk losing him to the Deadweed, a sinister, invasive plant devouring everything in its path.

But when the Deadweed spreads dangerously close, Dayie’s secret is exposed. Forced to join the Training Hall of Dagban, she finds herself among riders struggling to bond with their dragons—a bond crucial to defending the kingdom from the Deadweed’s relentless advance.

As Dayie trains, her mysterious powers begin to surface, drawing suspicion and unease. To master her magic, she must uncover the secrets of her past. But danger is closing in, and her connection with her dragon may be the kingdom’s only hope against a growing, deadly scourge.

With time running out, Dayie must make an impossible choice: protect her dragon or save her home.

The story is great.

The narrator seems to be part of a trend of narrators that sound like they learned English from a second hand author. She butchers words all through the story she can't even say, "charcoal," as a native English speaker would. She butchered many other words but another stand out was "narrated."

This butchering of words seems to be a trend she is not the first I have heard butchering the spoken English language.

I am enjoying the author's work

This was a very exciting book and very well written. I enjoyed this story from start to finish. A bit of adversity, a bit of excitement, a little romance. It had it all.

Great book! I couldn't stop listening

I liked the story but the narrator made me eye roll on many occasions. First were the mispronounced words...who doesn't know how to pronounce ocher? that was just the first of several. At first it was funny but by the time she bungled trebuchet I was all out of humor. She did a great job while she was portraying the hero, who was also a young woman. she was convincing and enjoyable to listen to, provided she wasn't mispronouncing her words. But her male characters were mostly suffering. They all had the same grandiose inflictions, no change in timber or candence. I am not an actor or a language specialist or a professional of any kind. But I had to force myeslf to sit through the series, which is a shame because I enjoyed the story.

good story, okay narrator

Good story, but in addition to several other opinions about the narrator butchering words, the author’s use of “I and…” grated on my nerves like nails on chalkboard!
If you want to be an author, learn the proper use of pronouns.
How did that get past her editor?

Overall the story was good
