Publisher's summary

Disillusioned businessman, John Lawrence Locke, finds himself summoned as a hero to another world, filled with monsters and magic! With his body reverted to the age of 15, the 33-year-old's mind is filled with the possibility of battles and adventures, like the ones in his favorite video games.

Unfortunately for him, life isn't always so convenient. Betrayed by the very people who summoned him, he's condemned as the False Hero and forced to flee for his life. Alone in an unfamiliar world and hunted by all of humanity, he takes on the alias of Lutz and uses his gaming knowledge to quickly adapt to the world's strangely game-like mechanics.

Excellent story

It’s an excellent story but a little bit simplistic and taken a lot from some other anime series. If it continues like this then it will definitely be an excellent Book series, I look forward to the next book.

My Experience With This Title

I really enjoyed this title. The narration was ok. The story was good. Similar to the Shield Hero but not quite as good. I like the characters and the intermission. The real problem with this title is the cost vs. the length of the product. In my opinion. Light Novels should be no less than an 8 hour listen if not more. The story needed more story. Other than that I have no real complaints. I would recommend this title to Light Novel fans.

terrible narrator

This is a decent story, but the narrator is terrible. skip the audible version and pick up the book.

Pretty good

I like the ending and hope the next book goes in that direction. The basic premise behind it seems to be like rise of the shield hero, but I think it is different enough that it could be really good.

simple yet finely executed

for what amount to just an other isekai story this one show it hand as heavely inspired by sheild hero. However for what it is it very well executed with its own spin on the tried and true formula.

A fun story

This book is nothing new and it obviously borrows elements from existing stories but it's still a very enjoyable read. The narrator needs a little polish but he is very good at delivering lines with a type of harsh edge that really feels like he's speaking from the heart. If you're looking for a fun story to pass the time while you wait for the next big book to release this is a solid choice.

Enjoyed the listen

Very much enjoyed Volume 1, about to listen to volume 2. The only negative thing about it is the female voice actor. Not that she's a bad voice actor, it's just that the swapping back and forth between voices irritates me, and there is no emotion in her voice, even when the character has moved passed her hating life stage.

A lot of reviews call this a Shield Hero knockoff... There are like.. Maybe three similarities... And it's no different from the same repeated tropes you see all of the time if you've been reading for years. It just so happens that new anime are making these tropes stand out... even though they've been around since the 60s and 70s. There is very little that hasn't been done before, a writer's job is to make their own version of the same repeated tropes unique.

Anyway, enjoyed the story. It was a good binge read while writing my own novel. Broke up the monotony and helped give me a second wind. Good job, author .

I gave it 5 stars

Its not a perfect best seller’s style of book. Thats not why I gave it 5 stars. Its a fun read, interesting definitely. I gave it five for the reasons it delivered an anime/litRpg style book. But I liked the anime vibes it gave off. It managed to stay stable and it didn’t get crazy/hazy like a lot of other litrpgs I’ve read. It stuck with the story and limitations and did it pretty well.
