Publisher's summary

Kirian and I were just 12 years old when I pulled him from the icy waters of the creek behind my house. As he looked in my direction with unseeing lavender eyes, I quickly realized our age was just about the only thing we had in common. He spoke with an accent, he had pointy ears, and he was so beautiful it made my heart ache. Oh, and he claimed to be a fae prince cursed by witches who stole his sight.

I thought he was crazy from hypothermia. Turns out, he wasn’t, and for some reason he keeps coming back. But a day in my world is a year in his. Every time I see him, he’s older. Wiser. Hotter.

Over the past six years, I’ve tried not to fall in love with him because the terms of the curse are clear: If he doesn’t wait for his fated mate in all ways, including an innocent (or not-so-innocent) kiss, he’ll be blind forever.

So when Kirian kisses me and pulls me through the portal to his realm, I make it my mission to do some damage control. It’d be a whole lot easier if he wasn’t determined to marry me...and if someone wasn’t trying to murder me every step of the way.

The Fae King's Curse is a full-length novel with no cliff-hanger.

Such a unique & great listen!

4.25 Stars!

Having first picked this series up earlier this year i've been wanting to again and when i found out about this audiobook i knew it was the perfect chance to! I started listening as soon as i could and got right back into the Between Dawn and Dusk world! I really enjoyed this listen!

I've listened to Theo Sinclair's narration before, but this was my first time listening to Avery Caris's! I loved the way these two and their narration captured my attention so quickly and completely! They were both so awesome and i thoroughly enjoyed what both Theo and and Avery brought to the story as Kirian and Quinn! I'll definitely be listening to more of their narration in the future!

From the world to the way they're brought together and everything in between, Quinn and Kirian's journey once again pulled me in!

The connection between these Quinn and Kirian was so sweet and their chemistry was so good! These two and their story had me feeling so many different things throughout! I was so glad to be back in this world again as well!

With The Fae King's Curse, Ms.Schlosser has created such a great journey that'll have you and your heart hooked! Theo's and Avery's narration brought this story to life and i so loved getting to experience it in this new way! From the story to the narration, this is such a unique and great listen!

Reckless: The Fae King’s Curse

This is the first book in the Between Dawn and Dusk series. This book is about Quinn and Kirian. Quinn was 12 year old when she saved Prince Kirian’s life. Kirian was a Fae prince that came to gather honey suckles to take back to his realm. He would come back every day to see Quinn. But each time he came back he would be a entire year older. Finally when Quinn turned 18 they both told each other their true feelings. Loved this book! Can’t wait to listen to Damien’s book next. Theo Sinclair and Avery Caris did a phenomenal job narrating this book.

I'm in Love!

This story is SO romantic. Let me set the scene... I read. A LOT. This has a tendency to make all of the love stories just ever so slightly blah. Same old same old, even if the story is great. NOT this one. This one actually had me swooning. Swooning. I don't swoon. What a wonderful, romantic story with very relatable characters and perfect narration. Loved everything about it. Worth every single minute!

Happy

Happy is a really good descriptor for this book. It’s such a pleasant, easy-reading, fairytale. Setup: Kirian is Fae and the heir to Kingdom of the Night Realm. He visits the human realm through a portal - which he receives as a birthday gift from a wizard - and meets Quinn, a tween human girl. They are the same age and become instant friends. Due the discordant passage of time (one of our days is a year for him) Kirian becomes a man well before Quinn becomes a woman. But he continues to platonically visit her (annually) for over 2 millennia until she reaches adulthood. Then he brings her to his land, where drama (and love) ensue.

There’s really nothing to dislike about this book (aside from the very straightforward YA style sentence structure/character building, and maybe the lack of racial diversity). But those are very human complaints and this story calls for you to suspend your disbelief. It’s sweet and magical and fun. The world building is good. The romance has some spice.

Cute story

the voice actors did great. I like the story, it's very cute as long as you don't think too hard about the beginning.

The Fae Kings Curse

this was such a cute and satisfying story, I love how it started off, how they known each since they were early teens. and how he would always come to see her. how there friendship grow into love, and all this time they were fated mates. I found it so funny 😁 at a part at the end about the resting bitch face. omg did that had me laughing so hard 🤣. the humor in this book was good too. to be honest I can't wait to hear the next book. I hope it's about Damon, to be honest I think his story is going to be a good one just because of his character. he sounds like one of those that find humor in everything. but anyways let's also give a big thanks to the narrator's for bringing this book to life, they did a really good job.

Just what I needed.

This reread via audiobook was everything I remembered. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. It was just what I needed.

Kirian is the Prince of the Night Realm. When this story starts, he is just 12 years old. He is living with a curse that he received 1 year prior. Quinn is a twelve-year-old human girl who pulls the prince from a cold, rushing creek on Earth. Their story is written in first person from a dual POV.
I adored this story! It is one of my favorite reads of the year. The characters are well-developed. The plot is gripping. The description of the two worlds is detailed and complete. The heat level is high. There is humor, banter, suspense, action, and romance. The pace is perfect, and I honestly could not put this book down. The lost sleep was worth it!
The development of Kirian and Quinn’s friendship melted my heart. I loved their unconditional acceptance of each other regardless of what the world might view as flaws. I love that they spend time doing things like reading together, working on homework, and playing games. I love that Quinn helps Kirian explore her world. There is humor as they call each other out, tenderness when he comforts her on the bad days, and romance as they dance under the stars by light of fireflies to the music of crickets. They get to know each other completely and rely on each other to be there.
When they enter the Night Realm, they face danger and the possibility that Kirian’s curse is permanent. I loved the action and suspense. The world is described magnificently. I love the protective attitude Kirian displays toward Quinn. Her compassion for him, and the inhabitants of his kingdom is compelling.
There are trolls, witches, gnomes, griffins and more in this fantastical world. The prequel to the series offers a historical background for the realms. There are underlying political issues between the realms and the new generation of cursed kings are determined to solve them and bring peace. The underlying political story of the realms and the fate of the other two kings will be concluded in additional books. However, this book does deliver the HEA for Quinn and Kirian and can be read as a standalone.
