Nice story

Nice story, sad at times but overall a story about survival. Really enjoyed and narrators good as well.

Great character development, factual statements about the times. Too bad more Americans can't be more truthful compatinant and forgiving.

Lovely and fascinating historical story from a period not often covered in historical fiction.

I enjoyed this historical references, however, there were several parts that were predictable. Had to speed through it; was drawn out and seemed pollyannaish.

I liked the perspectives and the narration. I enjoyed how the bravery and overcoming and changes because of decision making unfolded

Excellent writing

While the writing style was unparalleled, the graphic sexual abuse was deeply disturbing to me. I enjoy fiction for entertainment & understand the need for a conflict, but this seemed unnecessary to get the point across.
