Decent book and terrible narration..

I'm giving this 4 stars because I like 75% of it. And the other 25% dislike could be because of the narrator. He was pretty terrible. So I tried to concentrate more on the story.

I really liked Gabriel but Raven had too many TSTL moments, especially when she went to Gabriel's realm and wandered off outside because she was too impatient to wait for him, and AGAIN she was taken, by the evil people. He was constantly having to save that idiot girl.

I liked Richard, Duncan and Agnes, and even though we never got to the Oreads, Hazel and Juniper, I really liked them.

Overall, it was a pretty interesting story BUT since the same person is narrating the second book I won't continue with the series.

There was sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 11 times.

Enjoyable story - Love the the Plot

The story revolves around a dragon from another realm and a local New Orleans woman. The story immediately pulls you in! I throughly enjoyed how the author wrote both of the characters and their chemistry! I cannot wait for the next book.

As for the audiobook, the narrator (Rock Engle) read this story versus trying to do much character variation or bringing in local accents. The narrator has a nice strong voice. I wish they would have done a duel narration for this book. It would have made it a 5 star book for sure!

Wow

I like the simplicity of the book. It’s weird for me to hear the male narrator, but He is a good one. Continuing series!

Good story

Over all it was a good story. There were a few parts I where I wanted to reach in and smack the main character, but that feels a little like nitpicking. I enjoyed the story and consider it worth the credit used.

This has everything a girl could dream of in a book

A wonderful tale of mystery magic and love. You won't want it to end and I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait for the next book.

Good and some bad but definitely worth the read!

Overall good story and different twist on dragons. The heroine was a bit annoying at times because she lacked common sense that got her in trouble time and time again.

I love the narrator's voice but, his female characters needed a different inflection of voice. The women all sounded the same.

The Dragon of New Orleans

The Dragon of New Orleans by Genevieve Jack
1st in The Treasure of Paragon series. Dragon shifter romance.
Gabriel is a dragon shifter that uses his magic to cure Raven’s cancer.
I’d love to say altruistic, but no. He binds her to him in hopes she can break a curse.
There is a bit of humor and some hot sex. He is honorable and she falls in love.

I found it predictable mostly and the ending somewhat confusing. But I got my hea and I expect I will read more by the author because: Dragon shifter romance!

Humor:
“If you’re going to gossip about me, make me taller and far more attractive.”

🎧 I listened to the audio version narrated by Rock Engle. Not a fan. (I have friends that liked the audio so maybe …) He speaks slowly and has a distinct rhythm and voice that had me cringing. My usual rate is 1.2 but for this I was actually up to 1.5 and it could have been even a smidge faster.

3.5 rounded to 4 because of the hea.
