Story
As a part-time PI and full-time grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister's hair before she wakes up? But "how do I trap not one malevolent god but three?" was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension. There's just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago.

Story
Del Sol, New Mexico is known for three things: its fry-an-egg-on-the-cement summers, its strong cups of coffee - and, now, a nationwide manhunt? Del Sol native Sunshine Vicram has returned to town as the elected sheriff - thanks to her adorably meddlesome parents who nominated her - and she expects her biggest crime wave to involve an elderly flasher named Doug. But a teenage girl is missing, a kidnapper is on the loose, and all of this is reminding Sunshine why she left Del Sol in the first place.

Ten years ago, Lorelei's parents disappeared without a trace. Raised by her grandparents and leaning on the support of her best friends, Lorelei is finally beginning to accept the fact that her parents are never coming home. For Lorelei, life goes on. High school is not quite as painful as she thinks it will be, and things are as normal as they can be. Until the day the school's designated loner, Cameron Lusk, begins to stalk her, turning up where she least expects it, standing outside her house in the dark, night after night. Things get even more complicated when a new guy - terrifying, tough, sexy Jared Kovach - comes to school.

Story
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Vampyres don't exist. They absolutely do not exist. At least I didn't think they did 'til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead? Now I'm a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. Story
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Shadowvale isn’t typical small-town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. No one knows this as well as raven shifter Deacon Evermore, who, like everyone in his family, has a curse. While his position as Shadowvale’s peacekeeper lets him use that curse for good, he’d rather live anywhere else. He stays for his family but doubts he can last much longer.

Entertaining New Series

Publisher's Summary
This audiobook includes a wonderful dedication to the long-time narrator of the series, Lorelei King, read by the author.
Grim Reaper Charley Davidson is back in the ninth installment of Darynda Jones' New York Times best-selling paranormal series, The Dirt on Ninth Grave
In a small village in New York Charley Davidson is living as Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she's more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.
But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her - even from her new and trusted friends - the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead.
Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn't help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she's lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way.

Wonderful, Hilarious, Excellent
And I haven’t even finished the book yet, so i haven't figured out what the title means yet. The author & the narrator are the best. There is mystery & suspense too. But I couldn’t put this book down it made me laugh so much & left me with happy glow all day. Line after line of super comedy, made me think this author’s real talent is being a stage comedian as well being great at improvisation. I keep thinking the author must be a family member who has experienced all the funny lines I have ever heard in my life. So cool! Ok OK I will stop now because we all know too great of a review will always back fire on some people. But for me this book could not have been improved upon. It gave my spirit a lift & my funny bone some great exercise. Warning: Do not try & read this at night even with earphones, unless you can laugh without being heard by the rest of the family!

And it just keeps going
I really don't like how we have had to read NINE books, and still know hardly anything. sometimes I feel as though the author doesn't know where she is going with the book, so she is dragging it out. I also don't like how in every book she repeats the same thing "if I held onto them, they couldn't leave" this is book nine. I don't think I need everything repeated.

Love this series but this is not my favorite.
Darynda Jones is such a creative writer with a wry sense of humor that it's difficult not to like her books and I have loved every book in this series. However in this one, though the story was compelling, I missed the strong romantic relationship and partnership between Charlie and Reyes which is the foundation of the story.

Another winner!!!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Abso-freaking-lutely!!!!!!!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dirt on Ninth Grave?
When Charley first tied up Reyes.
Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
She's the reason I found Darynda Jones's books. I love her work...all of her work. It's excellent.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!
Any additional comments?
Love, love, love this story! Can't wait for June 28, 2016 which is when "The Curse of Tenth Grave (Charley Davidson Series)" is released

Unsurprisingly amazeballs!
What made the experience of listening to The Dirt on Ninth Grave the most enjoyable?
Everything was spot on! This book had the perfect combination: Darynda Jones' sublimely addictive writing style--a nicely paced, active plot, engaging, endearing characters, and plenty of wit and snark--and Lorelei King's always impressive narrative prowess.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked that, even with the annoyingly persistent amnesia, Charley was still good ol' Charley, with her personality shining through, even in the absence of her memories. Also, I liked that, despite the change in setting, and the change in Charley's memory, this book still included almost all of the characters we love in this series. I was glad that the story picked up with them already on scene.
Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?
I love all the characters, but I think Lorelei King's performance of Charley is absolutely perfect. As far as her performance of the other characters, honorable mentions go to: Angel and Aunt Lil (though, admittedly, Aunt Lil is scarcely in this novel).
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
As usual, I laughed out loud quite a few times.
Any additional comments?
My biggest complaint is that it's over. I hate that I will have to wait so long for more Charley Davidson!

WOW!!!! Always Great!!!
When I finished the previous book I was wondering what will happen next how things will turn out to be for Charley. And I was shocked how things turned and happy as well. It was a really great story to listen to and I loved it.
This series is getting better and better and better, and you can't stop laughing. Very funny writer and an amazing narrator by Lorelei King.

The best one so far!!!
I counted down the days on this pre-order. These stories just get better and better. This one took a twist that in my opinion made it the best one yet! Oh my God the humor. You would think that this is just light fare reading the description of these books and on some level I suppose they are but if you believe humor and sarcasm done right are the best thing ever - you will love these books. I would not even consider reading these books in print because Lorelei King is sooooo good. The perfect match between writer and reader. It's 'Bloody Jack' for grown-ups. If you haven't read that series by all means start that one - right after you read this series from the beginning.

Really Bad
This book was a real clunker. The attempts at humor were mostly corny and not funny. The main character was supposed to be in her twenties and the narrator sounded like she was mid forties. There were too many minor characters and it was tough keeping them straight since I was listening and it took me a while to finish this because the story was so far fetched and silly I will not listen to anymore books by this author. I was determined to finish it even though I didn't like it so I could write a review about it.
