Short, but fun

I usually don't review, but I didn't see any reviews that gave much insight to the content in this little package, since it's basically a small collection of shorts, so I'm hoping this may help.

So there is a big difference between this collection of stories and volume 2. In Volume 2, all the stories seem to take place after Summer Reign with some pretty big story elements and while we don't know what exactly will happen in the next book, I think it's safe to assume that there will definitely be some connections between it and volume 2.

This book, volume 1, however, is different and may not be a necessary read. The first short is the first introduction of Chris to the vampires that we saw in the first book, but from Lydia's perspective. The second is with Chris and gramps when Chris was a teen. The third story is about werewolves and some of the weres from Arcane, along with Mack and Jetta, show up to help. And the final story is Arkady messing with Declan, which gives a bit more insight as to how the team is getting along after Summer Reign.

Overall, this volume doesn't feel like it will be required if you're just looking forward to the next big installment. Nothing major happens, we don't get any insight for what might happen in the future. It's just a bit more backstory. My personal favorites were the first and last story. With that said, every single story was very enjoyable and I was happy to learn more about the other characters.

First story was awesome

It told of the first encounter of Tatiana and Christian... from Lydia's perspective. I've hear the original version several times. Hearing it from this angle was pretty cool. Not long enough!
The other stories were shorter but still pretty good.

Hate Brooks like this

I really enjoyed this series. But when they split up books like this It just makes me feel they're trying to use up my credits. These 3 books should have been made into one. To me any book under 4 hours shouldn't cost a credit.

Fine $1 purchase

I’d have been upset if I’d paid more than $1. The first story is the beginning of book 1, just from a different character’s perspective; I didn’t feel like that added anything new. The next two stories are just people hanging; not much mystery, action, or dialogue. The last one has a little humor and fun, but is a tiny half hour snippet.

Worthy addition to the storyline

I really enjoy the going back and recapturing the first Meeting of The God Hammer and his mate, for others perspective. Nicely done. A quick read but helps fill in some blanks.

It’s okay

Not bad. Seemed at first that the whole thing was just going to be a rehash of the original story. Thought we were looking to fine tune the first book, but the other short stories moved up and on. Glimpses into some of the others. Or aspects of Gordon’s youth.

SPEAKING OF HONOR, WHY WOULD A CORPORATION CHARGE-

-ITS MOST LOYAL FANS TWICE THE PRICE FOR 1/2 A BOOK. OH WAIT," BECAUSE WE HAVE INVESTED DEEP INTO THE STORY, YOU HAVE DECIDED YOU GOT US BY THE SHORT HAIRS. A VILLIAN IN YOUR STORIES WOULD APPLUDE SUCH RUTHLESS AND DIS-HONORABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Well, be careful, the Universal Laws will show up soon.
A few examples; What goes around, Comes around, Karma, and You will Reap what you Sew... etc..

Nice add-ons but wish they were longer!

In this mini-anthology of Demon Accord shorts u get a snippet of Lydia's POV when Tanya first met Chris, Gramps POV of Chris when he began using his demon killer powers as a boy, Declan's 21st bday party at a bar focusing on Arcadie and his sinister sense of humor, and a glimpse of at least 1 new character (possibly 3) when he has a lycan encounter and meets some of the kids from Arcadia on a camping trip.

I wanted more of the Lydia POV for the new perspective of Chris and Tanya, the insight into Tanya's vulnerability and a look at Lydia beyond the ever increasing snarky be-ooch she has devolved into as the books progress.

I would also enjoy more on Gramps and Chris but probably not a whole book. The bar bday party didn't need to be more than it was although I enjoyed seeing more of Archadie's personally and am praying that the new character (s) and the group they run into don't get their own lengthy storyline. Personally, I found the Mac and Jenna story a couple books back boring. I would have rather read about it with more of Declan's perspective intertwined as he became more and more angry because his friends were missing.

Huge Disappointment

At this point it seems like the author is just grabbing at straws to make as much money as he can on the series. I loved all the books up until this point and this was just a really short recap of the past books, poorly done. The narrator is awesome as always but don’t expect too much from this book.

Good Stories but Not Long Enough

These are unrelated stories that are good, but the 3 hours is not worth the money.

Good Stories

JUST NOT ENOUGH OF THEM!
It's about time the next full book was out. I've had to listen to the whole series 2 times now, just to get my fix.....

A refreshing look at the supporting cast

This is well worth a listen if you ever come across it discounted. I think it’s brilliant but as with a lot of audiobooks the standard price is excessive.
James Patrick Cronin is a fantastic narrator and really does a brilliant job with this short stories. Anyone who’s a a fan of the series and even those who aren’t will enjoy this look at the Demon Accords world through the eyes of the supporting characters.
