Publisher's summary

The first rank four dungeon ever born. An unusually talented party of adventurers. Both must face the terror that destroyed the kingdom that came before them.

Will is the newest in a long line of dungeons born into the world — and he’s a rank higher than any dungeon that preceded. He’s born along with seven other dungeons in a small area, but so many dungeons were born in one place because of a magical disaster...a disaster brought about by the Voidbringers who sought to conquer the world.

Now the unthinkable has happened. The Voidbringers have returned, and they have the ability to corrupt dungeons. As a powerful dungeon, Will is one of their targets. He comes under assault by their minions, has to deal with aggressive neighboring dungeons, and of course, adventurers.

With the aid of his dungeon fairy, Amber, and an adventuring party run by Gar Adamant, displaced prince of the kingdom destroyed by the Voidbringers, Will must grow his dungeon to become as strong as he possibly can, grow his nearby town, defend himself and the locals, and fend off the enemies that surround him everywhere.

A Dungeon Core story.

Loved it!

I have listened to almost all dungeon core books on audible, and this one was top 5%. Quite generic but very well written and it was very pleasant to listen to the narrator.

Not enough Dungeon

So for those of you who love dungeon building and the "Dungeon" view, this is not for you. I would say after the beginning only about 20% (max 25%) is from the dungeon's POV. While I can say that the stats, leveling, alignments, perks, and build path both for adventures and dungeons is exquisite. it's perfect for the stat nerds out there.

Personally I prefer a book like this to be more about the dungeon than it is in this book. I am going to get the next one and see if it is more of the same or not. Honestly the book is fairly good it's just not to my preference, if I don't have a preferred version of dungeon story I would have given it 5 Stars.

okay...

The dialog between the fairy and core is just dumb and annoying, like most Dungeon Core books... quit trying to copy Cal and his fairy.
Actually, the fairy just sucks all around, so annoying.
And Will not surrounding his core with strong bosses is dumb

Good book, but wrong narrator

This book was a good dungeon core book. It doesn't stand out in any particular way. Unfortunately, the narrator doesn't have any voice or accent for dwarves, and other than being reminded they are dwarves can be easily assume they are human.

Definitely not the right narrator.

Narration is not bad; as in no audio flaws. HOWEVER, no character distinction, or not much. The narrator would be good for other books just not this one.

Writing; some odd word choices in places but over all OKAY. With a new narrator I would continue the series; I would suggest a Male and Female as there are multipole female and male characters.

Mmmm

I have read a lot of dungeon core books. The point of the books is to be about the dungeon. Understand this is only my opinion. I couldn’t get past the half way mark. The story was more about the dwarves than the dungeon core.

eh

too much jumping around to characters nobody cares about. MC is over confident, and moronic

Nothing that has not already been said.

There are some great dungeon core stories out there that help you truly immerse yourself in a new world. This was not one of those. I don't like being a harsh critic this story does have okay elements some of the dialogue was okay for a modern story but not a mythical one. Too many modern terms used even the swearing was Modern and irritating. The narrator did not really help the story either there are some things that narrator could have done to make the story sound mythical but he did not such as giving unusual accents.
