Publisher's Summary

This box set contains all three books of the Sun-Blessed Trilogy - over 43 hours of fresh, unique YA fantasy. Dive into a world of golden magic and looming evil.

The glow itself seemed to be alive, breathing, spreading under the baby’s skin. One question filled my mind: Who is this child?

Tavi Malin is born facing the sun, filled with greater magic than any other sun-blessed child. When Tavi turns 14, her magic awakens. Her uncontrollable, destructive power frightens those around her - almost as much as it terrifies Tavi herself.

Tavi and her friends train to use their gifts, unaware of the threat developing in a distant city. Dissidents have banded together, and they’re killing to attain gray magic, an ominous new force that breaks the rules of ordinary magic.

But to seize true power, the Grays must grow their ranks - and Tavi is a prize worth pursuing.

In a fight where confidence is as crucial as strength, even extraordinary gifts aren’t sufficient. If Tavi is to prevail against the Grays, she must find a courage that goes deeper than magic itself.

You’ll love the entrancing characters, relationships, and magic in this all-new fantasy world.

Adult Fiction & Fantasy Worlds

This is a story done on Audible of Adult Fiction ad Fantasy Worlds with some magical twists. It is a clean book your young adults can enjoy. It is emotion filled and after the first few chapters you won't want to stop listening as it will keep you wanting to know more. I love books with strong characters and she has nailed it. There are many twists and turns with surprises as you go. With her strong characters she weaves in true friendship and yet there are battles against evil. I loved the narration of this audio book which is done by the author herself. She does a great job and it keeps you wanting more. I highly recommend this book.

Great YA Trilogy

I thoughly enjoyed this story, there were some parts where the story ramble along, but overall Great YA story. The main character ( Tavi)
makes some poor choices in the beginning, but it is because she is young (14) and inexperienced in life and relationships. I really loved Talwin the boy she meets in the forest. He becomes wrapped up in her life and mission.
Narrator did a wonderful job with the characters and the storyline in this Trilogy.

great books for 14 year old girls

Could have been 2 books instead of 3. Not very exciting. Mainly a group of teenagers running around hiding from the bad guys. I almost expected the main antagonist at the end to say "And I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for these pesky teens".

An amazing trilogy

I loved this trilogy! The storyline was quite unique and original and kept my interest. The world building was amazing, the characters well-developed, the plot twists well thought and executed. The narrator (which is the author herself) did a great job bringing the story to life. If you like fantasy, this is a book I recommend.

It is magical, emotional, graphic, but chaste

This book is amazing. It uses incredibly detailed descriptions to get you to fall in love with the characters and has a great ability to hit you emotionally at both the high points and the low points. The author actually uses all of her small details throughout the trilogy later and it weaves quite masterfully. She created an all-powerful magic system with obvious systematic limitations that make it not overpower the story. Then she proceeded to lift some of those limitations and shows how that change affected the world, and how it can go on to reform the expectations of everyone. It is masterfully woven, it shows the effects of different groups with different ideals colliding, and for me, even though it has a few romances, it is incredibly chaste. There are some descriptions of pregnancy and childbirth and some of the descriptions of fighting can get very detailed so, although this is a great book, I do not advise that it be listened to with small children.

Not for a uninterested it is meant to be savored

It is a magical journey. It is a world similar yet different from ours. A world where magic lives. I liked the first of the trilogy. I believe I took on too much with the whole series. If I would have spread It out in weeks instead of days I would have liked the story beter. I debate on a three or four star review. I give four because I feel the fault was mine. I got this book through storyorigins and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Time well spent

Usually I am wary of an author narrating their own book, it tends to fall a bit flat, but Anderson did a great job. Well written and narrated

Long trilogy but I couldn't stop listening

This very long trilogy , but a must listen, it's a unique story pn how its told. A tale of magic and revolution, from the prospective of midwifery. In fact this very view of life is unique, but part of all human kind. it's a coming of age tale and a love story you can feel safe having you youngsters enjoy.

Not my cup of tea

The author narrates herself. She sounded a bit creaky every now and then, and I’d like more distinction between the different voices, but all in all, it was okay.

The story: it starts with a birth. The description was a bit too long. I could do with a little less detail. But it was important to show the importance of the Sun-Blessed birth. But it goes for the whole story: there was just too much detail, making things too drawn-out. Making the story - sorry if it sounds harsh but that’s how I felt - boring. I was not interested enough to keep my mind from wandering off. The story, and the voice, didn’t hold my attention. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. Even though I love the genre, and even though the synopsis sounded so good, this book didn’t do much for me. You know, it wasn’t bad! But it was just not for me. I think if the story was shortened, tightened, it would be better.

I am sorry, but I didn’t manage to get farther than book 1.

Just wasn't what we hoped for

This was for a 12 yr old. She couldn't get into the story.
Lots of mature themes and while some of the story line and subplots were enthralling, some characters developed well and the "idea" of the book great, the narrator and author really didn't develop characters or the story as much as they could.

She listened to the first 2 hours and doesn't want to listen anymore.
It's going to be returned.
