Publisher's Summary

Aliens.

That's right. I said it.

I know - it sounds stupid to me also. I'm a psychologist (sort of), so you'd think I'd be able to reason my way out of this mess. Except the reality is that I've been abducted to become their breeder, and it doesn't take an advanced degree to recognize this is all sorts of jacked up.

But I digress.

Apparently, these aliens are on the brink of extinction and need me and my fellow captives to repopulate. Yay us. I guess it's time to figure out an escape plan before they knock me up. I'll be back later.

Hopefully.

A good book made awful by the narrator

I love this book. It's fun and quirky and just an enjoyable read. The narrator was a huge disappointment, She seemed incapable of giving each character their own "voice" so it was very flat and she just seemed totally uninterested in the narration. I will make it a point to not purchase any book with this narrator again.

I’m annoyed...

I’m sorry I bought this. The lead female is a bobblehead. And it’s really just - sex. I’m down for alien kink, but this feels rapey. It feels rapey bc author treats first sexual interactions as somewhat clinical- no buildup, sexual tension, or chemistry/connection up front. Just - bam. I was hoping for a reasonably intelligent story- even if this is alien sexy fluff. Ah well. I probably won’t buy anymore from this author. I had hopes. Just a side note, I did enjoy her world building and sci-fi concepts.

Good story needs a better narrator!

I love this author, she writes great alien romances, but this narrator needs work. At times this narrator spoke so quickly it sounded like one big run on sentence and her inflections fell in the wrong places that it became really annoying. I struggled to get through it and finally gave up on chapter 2. Will be returning this audio book and buying the ebook instead, that way I can enjoy the story.

It’s not terrible

This book didn’t have many fantastic reviews to go off of. I thought the idea behind the book was good so I bought it. Now I’m about halfway through it and it has good qualities and has some things left to be desired. This story feels like it was fleshed out in the authors head but not all of it made its way to the page. There are aspects between the two main characters that would make more sense as time passes, except the concept of time passing is convoluted. The way it seems everything happens within a day maybe two. I enjoyed the female lead not being crazy in the hackneyed way of “omg aliens let’s freak and never get a handle on it until they see the amazing goods a alien man is packing” I like the humor used to deal with the situation and the wanting to comfort others. The relationship / feelings of the main characters definitely could be more fully explained and given time to develop. I understand the women are stolen for procreation And I like the clinical way they go about it, it makes sense for this type of story. What I wish was available was the thoughts behind the male character and more analysis from the female lead if we can’t have the male leads perspective. There are also characters that just show up and the female lead seems to know them and have a background with them while I’m sitting here thinking I missed a chapter, like who is this alien dude? In the end I don’t know if I’ll continue this book but I know I won’t return it. Returning books makes the authors go without payment and that’s horse hockey in my opinion. So even if I don’t finish it I’ll definitely be keeping it.

Stupid

I don't like how irrationally calm the FMC is. Wouldn't you put a good portion of your time being angry at the thought of being rapped? Not making idle conversation and acting like a bobble head in heat the whole time? Yeah not Lia who acts like a horny doormat. The "aliens" also seem boring as hell for a group or rapists. Definitely unoriginal and forgettable.
