A Deal for Zeylum is the first book of the Tallean Mercenaries series and a steamy, action packed adventure that has transitioned to audio with the sensual narration of Troy Duran.
Zeylum, Captain of the pirate vessel Defiant has been captured while on a solo supply run.
Caged along with human female Ashe, she to be sold at an intergalactic auction, they both agree to work together on a plan of escaping the enemy vessel which includes a deal for Zeylum to bring Ashe to a safe haven on Reka 5.
Escape they do but it doesn’t go through with out a few hitches that force them into closer contact with each other that soon turns into much more.
Lots of intrigue, suspense, and danger will follow that keeps the story fast paced and thrilling.
I loved this story and enjoyed the audio version that sweeps the listener into a story that flowed as smooth as silk and harnessed all the emotional impact of a Sci-Fi Romance that didn’t lose any of it’s power in the audio telling.

Wonderfully fabulous

Ash, human abdutee, is strong, stubborn, determined woman that enthralled her alien hero until he could no longer allowed himself to be separated from her.
Zeylun, a mercenary warrior/pirate, felt protective of Ash from the moment he met her in a Dominion cell as captives.
Wonderful characters, steamy,,dangerous, adventurous, action filled, sassy human, protective alien, pirates and mercenaries, evil controlling government, and a HEA.


The audio book is done very well. The narrator has a deep soothing voice that captures you as you listen to the story. You can imagine Zetlun voice sounding so deviously deep as the narrator's.

Space Pirate adventure

Ashe is kidnapped from Earth and Zey is an alien space pirate that is captured and thrown in the cells with all the other kidnapped victims. Ashe and Zey must learn to trust each other if they are going to escape and survive. Very good read, I enjoyed both the written version and the audio version.

I Love Lynnea's Tallean Mercenaries series. I grabbed the audio and at first, not gonna lie, was concerned with there being just one narrator. I've been spoiled with dual lately lol. But I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that I didn't miss the dual narrators (male/female). It was very well done. The story is full of action and romance and a HEA. You can't go wrong if you grab this audiobook!

Good start to series - action, heat, romance

This is a good first book in the series. Good pace that keeps the tension until the very end. The two MCs have sparks from the beginning. The male MC is dominant without being controlling. The FMC is strong, confident, and independent. Lots of delicious steam, action and bit of angst. There are two "almost" SA scenes w/the FMC + other characters. One is a bit intense so be aware. Her recovery + emotions afterward are so spot on. The MCs have to get past insecurities that develop from this scene. As expected, they have work through cultural differences before finding their HEA. Also includes the redemption arc for another character. He has a long way to go before he is redeemable for me though. We are introduced to several characters who get their own stories later.

Troy Duran is the perfect narrator for this book. He has a beautiful, smooth deep, growly voice that suits this character and story so well. I imagine that if a bear could talk, it would have this narrator’s voice.

Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Ashe and Zeylum

The first book in the Tallean Mercenaries series a well written story with a great storyline, that I enjoyed reading. Ashe and Zeylum's story has suspense, drama, danger and romance. I want to read or listen to the next book. I enjoyed listening to Troy Duran narrate this story.

Action-packed!

This story brings both the heat and the action! I loved Zeylem and Ashe’s story; with its escapes, kidnapping and rescue spicy times, what’s not to love. This is the first in a series of standalones in a new universe - the rest of the stories are just as good, but there’s always something about your first - wink wink….

An Adventure She Wasn’t Expecting

Ashe & Zeylum’s story is a prime example of something wonderful happening as a result of something awful, and rolling with whatever life throws at you. Ashe being abducted from Earth & finding herself on a spaceship on the way to an unknown life should be the craziest of all think going on in her life. When Zeylum, a Tallean, is thrown in her cell & wants to work together to escape, she has to decide if she’s willing to take that chance. That leap leads to more than just her freedom, and the journey they go on together is exciting ride full of chemistry, humor, and lots of action. One of my favorite SFR series because Lynnea always delivers on sweet emotions & touching romance…she just does it with alpha alien males lol. Troy does an amazing job (as usual) at being this story to life. Hearing Zeylum come to life was sooooo good…I think I just about melted in my seat 😝🥰 I really hope Troy is doing the other books in the series too, because he captured their Tallean personalities PERFECTLY 🙌🏻 Really can’t wait for more audiobooks in this series ❤️

Great Narration & Strong FMC FTW

I really liked that the FMC had a strong sense of self and purpose. Troy Duran is amazing as always with the narration. He has the ultimate growwwll 🥵. I'll definitely continue with this series.

The heroine: Ashe - she is a human woman who was kidnapped from her life, taken into space by Dominion slavers and was headed for the auctions, kept in the ships hold in cells with other humans, fighting for the little food and water they are given. Until a huge alien male was captured and taken prisoner along with the humans.

The Hero: Zeylum - he is the captain of a mercenary spaceship, he was famous, and a wanted man. When he gets caught, his captors are more than happy thinking of the huge bounty they will get. The price on Zey’s head was high, but nobody could keep him locked up for long. So when the little human female helps him out, he decides to help her as well.

The Story: When Zeylum makes his move to escape from the Dominion ship, he takes Ashe along with him and they end up in the wilderness on a nearby planet. While camping out in the rugged terrain of an unknown planet, they get to know each other and start bonding. Zeylum is afraid that Ashe will want to go to a safe planet, since Earth is no longer safe. He knew that of living with him on his ship isn’t the kind of life she might want. So, they are each a bit wary of the others feelings and motives.

I tend to really like alien romance books that have a journey or adventure in the story. This was a good example of that, they started in a spaceship, went to a city and then to the wilderness, they ended up on his ship, and on to another alien planet. I really liked both of the characters and they were well developed. Zeylum was huge, strong and self-assured, but he had a good heart and he was protective of Ashe, which I really liked. Ashe had a strong character and was interesting in her own right.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via Solo narration and was narrated by Troy Duran. Troy is one of my top five male narrators. He has a deep, sexy voice and always does a fantastic job. I rarely get solo narration audiobooks, but I don’t mind them if it is narrated by Troy. He is great at using different voices for different characters and always sounds very natural.
