They say love and construction don't mix. By that logic, hate and construction may as well be condemned.
LaRynn Lavigne and Deacon Leeds had one short and contentious summer fling when they were teens—certainly nothing to build a foundation on. But a decade later, when their grandmothers have left them with shared ownership of their dilapidated Santa Cruz building, they're thrust back together and have to figure out how to brace up the pieces.
LaRynn has the money, but in order to access her trust, she has to be married. Deacon has the construction expertise, but lacks the funds. A deal is struck: Marry for however long it takes to fix up the property, collect a profit, and cut ties.
Thrust into a home without walls, LaRynn and Deacon quickly learn that it's easy to hide behind emotional ones, even in a marriage. But with all the exposure and pitfalls that come with living with the opposite sex (and none of the perks, much to their growing mutual frustration) they'll also have to learn what it means to truly cooperate as a team.

𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 🎧 - Tim Paige and Amy Hall were so fun to listen to! I really enjoyed their performances and the way they brought out the personalities of the main and secondary characters.
So much fun!

Imagine having to live with that one person you want to forget from your past. Forced to share a space but also married to for convenience.
"Home. Home. Home. Three months together in a ripped-up bulding and nothing's ever felt more like it."
Okay listen, second chance romances are truly a hit or miss for me and I really thought this one was going to be miss until I hit the 40% mark. The begining was SOOO slow and the characters in the begining were driving me insane but once it picked up, it really picked up and I ate it up. The groveling and the banter and the flash backs WERE SO GOOD and the ending had me sobbing.
This was my first Tarah story and the world she built in this story was so vivid I felt like I was living it with these characters and thier growth from being children to adults figuring life out.
The banter is so hilarious. LaRynn and Deacon go through so much while trying to fix this home their grandmothers created while unknowningly falling hard for eachother AGAIN.
ALSO DEACON WEARS A HEADBAND WHEN HES WORKING TO KEEP HIS HAIR OUT OF HIS FACE, FUCKING SAY LESS YALL.
“Be my wife. Stay my wife. Forever LaRynn. I dont care where we end up or what we do as long as I have you."
Amazing second chance romance
