The City of God is one of the most important works of Christian history and philosophy ever written. An astonishing intellect and spirit filled guide is St. Augustine, and the narrative reader was superb. I've had weeks of daily listening pleasure, enthralled and elevated. I repeat that experience again, after a short period of digestion. Simply beautiful.

The book was excellent, especially the last few sections that were not so repetitive; albeit, worthy of historical, literary, and theological interest.

A philosophical KO

Wow. Augustine was a smart, smart man. To my follow Christians - read this, and be tutored (and I say this as a Southern Baptist.). To those who are not Christians- if you are intellectually curious about arguments for faith at all, or a lover of history, or both (and I am both!) then please give this a go.
