Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Lynsay Sands "hits all the right notes" (Suzanne Enoch) whether she's penning passionate tales of the Argeneau vampire family or transporting her listeners to the Scottish Highlands.

In her charming historical romance classic The Chase, a beautiful Highlands hellion flees the handsome "English devil" she's been promised to, and her intended groom realizes that his enchanting prize will be much harder to win than he imagined. Lynsay's loyal listeners, as well as fans of Hannah Howell and Kinley MacGregor, will adore The Chase...as well as the very sexy capture!

loved

This was an amazing book. It was a well written, compelling story that grabs the readers attention right from the start. It had so much heat it made me sweat. There was plenty of steam as well. There was love and angst as well. I love the writings of this author and read everything that I can get my hands on. I gave this book five stars and would recommend it to anyone.

Performance

Story was great, but the narrator while having a lovely voice, didn’t pay attention to the punctuation and paragraphs. This made it irritating to listen to her and having to sometimes take a second to realize what the story was saying. This really dampened the enjoyment of this fun story.

Least favorite so far

Possibly least favorite of all her books. Usually I love listening to Sands stories but this one dragged on and on

not enough action

to much talk. touchy feely does nothing for me. give me action mixed with romance. not romance with only a tiny bit of action.

What happened to Lady Helen??

The chase is book 3 in the series, written in 2010, while the 2 former books were Lynsey Sands first two published books from 1997. It's funny and witty although not quite as good as the first two... I cannot remove a star for it!

Only what happened to Lady Helen... No update on if she was ok etc etc. It's obvious that it's been left open for a 4th book... but its 2017 and I'm gutted there isn't one!! Let's hope Ly say Sands doesn't wait too much longer to close that gap!!

Regardless I highly recommend ALL her historical books... I've not listened to one that wasn't 5* brilliant X

Not the best narrator story line not wowed

I’m sorry but this narrator didn’t do it for me and the combination of bad story line Lynsay can do better than this :(

Probably my favourite by Lynsay Sands

I have listened to quite a few of Ms Sands books and very much enjoy her characters and plots, but I REALLY have enjoyed this particular title. The characters are beautifully and humorously drawn and even though there are the requisite dangers there is so much loving humour that I have found myself smiling as I listen. I would absolutely recommend this book!!
