Publisher's Summary

James Qwilleran and his famous felines, Koko and Yum Yum, are back for another mystery-solving stint in the beloved best-selling Cat Who series.

While the town of Pickax is swept up in its sesquicentennial celebrations, Koko has developed a strange new hobby: He drops himself from balconies, occasionally landing in the oddest of places. When a young man comes to visit his wealthy relatives, Koko plummets straight onto his head!

Meanwhile, a hurricane is brewing, and the visitor's family members soon fall deathly ill. Qwill has his work cut out for him as Pickax, as foreshadowed by Koko, is about to be hit by a bombshell.

Disappointing

I don't know who is writing this series now, but this book and the last were soooo disappointing. I will probably stop reading the series. The first part of the series was so good, this book was a very pale imitation. I guess all good things must come to an end.

Horrible Story-Telling

I'm sorry, but this is just an awful book as far as I'm concerned. I'm over an hour into the book and literally not a single thing has happened to move the plot along. Nothing. People meet, talk, there is a parade, a celebration, more meeting, more talking, and on and on and on. Where's the plot?

I really question the author's ability to tell a story at this point, and I certainly would not want to try any of her other books. Also the narrator is annoying and is part of the problem. I've gone through hundreds of audiobooks from audible, and this one I'd consider to be in the bottom 10% of the ones I have listened to.

I miss the author of this fine book series

Lilian Jackson Braun was the winner of many writing awards due to great writing skill. smooth and very pleasant style was extremely easy to get whisked into the world she created and feel like you were in the character's shoes.

Love the cat who books

What can I say, I love all this Cat Who books. They are a light listen, murder and backstory without the gore, and I love cats.

I love reading The Cat who Dropped a Bombshell

Would you listen to The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell again? Why?

I would listen to it again; it's like visiting my childhood hometown and seeing all of the people I have missed. the characters are so life-like that I have to remember they aren't real; that I really CAN'T VISIT THEM!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell?

All

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved KoKo jumping on the lawyer's head!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No; I liked it all.

True to Her Superb Knack for Intrigue and Humor

I have read all of the Cat Who series again and again and listened to them as well. Once again Ms. Braun is true to Qwill and the cats. Her portrayal of their hijinks with a bit of tongue-in-cheek is delightful, an engaging and memorable listen. I recommend this book wholeheartedly!

Cats who know they are people

Those humans such as ourselves know that we are well trained by our humans. That is why I love listening to the series about two wonderful cats who help to solve the mystery of the story. You just have to know that there seems to be more truth to what comes from the cat then what comes out of the human.

Another great kokoyumyum adventure.!

Love visiting with my fictional friends from Moose County. Can't wait for more. I miss Jim broke but I love his generosity. George has the best voice...
