Publisher's Summary

It was bad when Jake found out his brother was one of them. A Human-Controller. A slave. But that was nothing compared to this.

When the Animorphs decide to visit the Yeerks' new base, it seems simple. But then they get caught, and Jake falls - just for a moment - into the Yeerk pool.

Now they're out, and his friends can't see it. To them, he's just like normal. But Jake is screaming for help. His worst fear has finally come true. He's become the enemy.

Got this specifically for Temrash 114!

Around 15 seconds into chapter 20, there's a small editing glitch, but other than that, I really enjoyed hearing the second-ever interpretation of Temrash 114's voice.

The best so far

This is the book I was waiting for when they first started the audiobooks. Narrator knocks it out of the park, no question. Absolutely fantastic on all fronts.

Fantastic

MacLeod Andrews did an incredible job narrating this one - his voice for the Yeerk was chilling. Great installment that introduces a lot of world building.

That last third!

The best part of this book is the final third, where poor Jake gets to experience infestation. I often wish it was more of the book, but maybe that would've been too overwhelming. The competence these kids show when their leader is incapacitated is very fun.

Still weird to have the Ax voice sound so old and pompous, but I really liked the rest.

Things get worse and worse.

Poor Jake. Now I have no clue who I feel sorry for, ugh. Narration is excellent. The poor guy, trapped in his own mind for 3 days.
