The international bestselling series with over 5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone!

For years, the Kingdom of Araluen has prospered, with the evil lord Morgarath safely behind the impassable mountains. For years, its people have felt secure. But the scheming hand of the dark lord has not been idle. . . . On a special mission for the rangers, Will and his friend Horace, an apprentice knight, travel to a neighboring village and discover the unsettling truth: all the villagers have either been slain or captured. Could it be that Morgarath has finally devised a plan to bring his legions over the supposedly insurmountable pass? If so, the king's army is in imminent danger of being crushed in a fierce ambush. And Will and Horace are the only ones who can save them.

Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, T.H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Good book but so short.. Wish they could combine them into 2 book packages. I'm going to listen to other books for now just because they last longer an give me more satisfaction for the money.

These books were my go to when I was a kid in school, there is so much excitement and adventure packed into an easy to digest package. After listening to lengthier Adult focused novels, I was ready to enjoy the simplicity of a Rangers Apprentice book.

Enjoyable to listen to, exciting to visualize.

i have nothing negative to say about the book itself. tons of suspense and action. the narrator was merely ok. I've heard worse, but I've heard far more better. He only has about 3 different inflections for all the different characters, which breaks the immersion sometimes. He talks normally when a character is supposed to be yelling. He talks normally when a character is fighting for breath in their dying moments. He simply got the job done. that is all.

Excellent Story, mediocre narrator
