On the fence…

This book touched on many topics that made my blood pressure rise into the stratosphere. The main characters seemed a bit weak in the face of adversity for much of the book. The narrator was okay for female characters, but a male narrator would be a great addition for male characters. Would like to have learned more about the aftermath pack that lost Alpha; that pack was a trip.

Love this Author!

I have been working my way through all of the series written by Evangeline and I have made it through The Alien Index and The Kindred Brides. I can tell the more she writes into the series the hotter and steamier it gets. Cougarville was eye opening and being an older woman I really got into the books.

this sounds like the militia groups running around

I am really tired of white authors writing books about black women with a white lens. a few years old it was found that there are groups out in real life perpetuating the dark behavior to women that is in this book. I did not find this book romantic at all. black and indigenous girls get kidnapped the most in this country. this book is romanticizing the harm that happened to black women is actually very concerning.
