New version not as great?

Re-read this in 2025 and felt disappointed by the new version. Maybe I’d built it up too much after loving it so much the first time? Picking the series back up since book #5 just dropped—this old memory needs a refresher. Off to book #2!

Talk About Slowburn

This is my second time reading one of Samantha Shannon’s books, and compared to“Priory of the Orange Tree,” this was much easier to digest. It is one of those books that you have to get through a chunk of to really love it, but now I have, and I do. 😁

Best Series ever!!

I recently discovered Samantha Shannon through her Priory of the Orange Tree series, which is also good. But The Bone Season…I have never been so throughly wreck by a series of books. Her writing and storytelling are masterful. I don’t know how am going to wait for the final to books. I don’t know how I will read anything else without comparing it The Bone Season.

Wonderfully done.

I loved the original, and this anniversary edition was just splendidly revamped. Definitely worth a listen.
