Wonderfully done.

I loved the original, and this anniversary edition was just splendidly revamped. Definitely worth a listen.

Favorite series

This is my very favorite series and I’ve been a fan since the beginning. This is my first listen to an audiobook though and I’m so impressed with Alana’s narration. I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of the series as well!

An excellent slow burn

I loved it. Great introduction to this beautiful world. Glorious job to the narrator, without your talent I likely wouldn’t feel the way I do about this book.

Talk About Slowburn

This is my second time reading one of Samantha Shannon’s books, and compared to“Priory of the Orange Tree,” this was much easier to digest. It is one of those books that you have to get through a chunk of to really love it, but now I have, and I do. 😁

Absolutely enthralling

This was a completely enthralling story I was drawn in from start to finish! Also perfect for spooky season.

Solid Science Fantasy

I enjoyed the Bone Season. It included a bit more human history and politics than I'm accustomed to, but Shannon made it work.
All in all, it was a solid story and a good read! The audio book performance was spot on!

Obsessed with this author!

This is definitely a book that had me obsessing over every detail. When I didn’t have time to listen to it I was thinking about it and when I was listening to it I couldn’t stop. Definitely worth ranting to your coworkers about even though they do not care.

Worth it

I was tentative to purchase another version - and I actually really liked the first edition - but the story was really engaging from the first chapter. With the slight character personality and event adjustments it almost felt like a different story. As it relates to the later books, this version of Paige makes a little more sense. As always, the narrator is great. I’m so happy they were able to keep the same person. Overall - Worth it!

I want to live in Shannon’s brain

I LOVE the world building, magic, characters, and found family. Still have a ton of questions about the refs, but I guess that just makes me wanna read the rest of the series. Also as a professional tarot reader and psychic medium this book does so much justice to the practice. I’m always so wary of how tarot is depicted and interpreted in books/movies and you can tell Shannon did soooo much research and took a lot of care with how she portrayed divination methods. It made me so happy to see these tools be used with intention and lovingly cherished by the characters, rather than it being a gimmicky trick. Highly recommend this book since the rewrite she did and I can’t wait for her to rerelease the rest of the books!
