Publisher's Summary

Their parents thought they were hiding....

One beautiful summer’s evening, thirteen-year-old twins Ivy and Erin Westmore snuggle down in a tent in their back garden, giggling and sharing secrets.

When their mother goes to wake the girls the next morning, their tent is empty.

The alarm is raised, and Detective Natalie Ward is put onto the case. When the twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, covered with deep pink petals, an icy shiver travels down Natalie’s spine. Everything about the girls’ deaths reminds her of a horrifying case she worked on earlier in her career, which saw a killer of the worst kind placed behind bars.

The next day, that feeling is heightened when she receives a chilling note saying "I’m back". Is this killer a copycat, or did Natalie put the wrong person in prison all those years ago? In a small town, where no stranger goes unnoticed, what is Natalie missing?

Consumed by the case, determined to prevent more deaths, Natalie misses the fact that it is her attention the killer wants. And to get it, he has his sights set firmly on her precious daughter Leigh....

Gripping, fast-paced, and nail-bitingly tense. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott, and Karin Slaughter.

WOW!

The Blossom Twins left me feeling, "what the *bleep*" and WOW, with tears in my eyes! I could relate to this story as I have a 14 year old daughter of my own, and social media and celebrities are all so very real for these girls!
As with all of Carol Wyer's books, this one started off strong and ended even stronger! I'm looking forward to see how Natalie's life carries on in the next book! This book was more than worth the credit! You will NOT be disappointed!

Excellent and emotional

I just finished this and I’m not sure what to say. This book was intense. Natalie has three murders to work on and an unstable home situation. Her team, for the most part, works brilliantly together. There was so much emotion in this book.

I love the series and I think this is the best. I need the next book ASAP. The narration of the audiobook was also first-rate.

Give it a miss

This book was predictable in the who done it area, guessed where it was headed first chapter. The ending was sad and in no way added to story.

Last poor man's" Prime Suspect substitute - EXCEPT

THE ENDING - now that was certainly an unexpected plot twist!

Otherwise -Dejavue all over again - the affair with subordinate coworker, the work conflict with someone not nearly as skilled as Jane (sorry, wrong story) the addiction, and so on. The mystery itself is different but the majority of the subplots are justv TOO FAMILIAR (albeit "tweaked") for fans of Linda LaPlante.

Wyer's series is subpar (as most modern mysteries would be) when compared with LaPlante's epic Jane Tennison series. Reading this book I kept scratching my head in a "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" sort of a way, confused that perhaps I had already read this novel (although I had just purchased it).

Although imitation is supposedly the highest form of flattery, in this case stick with the original masterpiece and read (or in my case re-read) and/or watch (ditto re-watch) the delightful Helen Mitten play Jane Tennison in LaPlante's flawless Prime Suspect series (watch it free with Amazon Prime).

Great Series

I loved this whole entire series by Carol Wyer on Natalie Ward. I was really sad about the ending for this book, but it does go to show that things don't always turn out happy and rosie in the end of every book. I wish there was another book to see how Natalie gets on after the tragedy.

Listened to This Autiobook Unable To Stop

I have enjoyed all the DI Natalie Ward books. This by far was the best. Completely held my attention. Carol Wyer author, just keeps getting better with each book. The ending was unexpected. I hope there be more books with DI Natalie Ward, but this sets a high bar to meet.

I think I need a hug...

This time, DI Natalie Ward is on the trail of a serial killer who preys on twin teenage girls. The killer is extra devious and covers their tracks well, though I was a bit smug that I had correct suspicions about whodunnit about halfway through.

While working on this case, she is also trying to manage her disastrous personal life which is taking it toll on her. Things come to a head when the killer’s identity is uncovered and it becomes clear that he has his sights set on Ward’s daughter.

As with all other books in this series, this title is exceptionally well written and full of detailed and well researched police procedure which I feel would keep even the pickiest pedant happy. There’s no jumping to conclusions and DI Ward’s team follow everything by the book to make sure they do the job right.

All of the audiobooks of this series are narrated by the amazingly talented Diana Croft, I have awarded all of them 5 stars for both story and narration but now I wish there was a bonus star because this book blew the rest of the series out of the water for both story and heart. I didn't think it was possible for me to be any more impressed with this narrator's work but I stand corrected, my jaw was hitting the ground by the end of this book.

You should definitely read the other books in this series first to get the full impact of the story, though it would still work as a standalone as some of the backstory is helpfully reiterated throughout so you’re not lost if this is your first read.

hmmm...

I have read all books in this series so far, this is the first book in which I thought it was obvious who the murderer was from the get go. All the 'red herrings' and potential suspects seemed obvious side plots/distractions.

Another superb book

This series by Carol Wyer is so good. I've read all the books and upon discovering they are narrated by Diana Croft, I listened to all the audio books. Hitting a reading/listening slump recently, what could be better to lift me up then revisiting this stellar series. I've under-starred this book as all the others are 5 star listens and this should really be a 6 star. Carol Wyer never takes the easy route with her heroes or story and this twist is one you definitely won't see coming. Even though I know the story my heart was once again in my mouth. Taut and nerve-jangling, The Blossom Twins will stay with you for a long time.

a twist

these books are good easy listening with a real twist at the end. Just getting a little fed up of the *poor me* of the main detective, I think it is time for her to sort her life out. Have even got used to the narrators dreadful accents.

Enjoyable series

Read the first book some time ago and can’t recall much but I’ve just listened to the others one after the other and found them easy to listen to, don’t have to concentrate too hard.

It’s obvious relatively early what’s going on and then the rest is sort of leading you away from it. Very good listen.

In my heart I wish it had ended differently but it was a good read that had me trying to guess who could be the killer for most the book.
