Eye opening to the “above the line” perspective to business

The book helped me too see the investors perspective to business and also opened my kind to the possibilities of equity funding. As an investment banker I have always been convinced that debt is best. But the points in this book make it clear what the possibilities are, particularly in our current (South Africa) high interest rate environment.

After this book, I’d rather own a small slice of a large cake, than own 100% of a cupcake.

This book is excellent for entrepreneurs to better structure their businesses and raise funding, it highlights to policy makers the elements of a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and contribute to the economy. Crucial business insight, absorb and share

A must read. Fun to listen and to the point. Great source of insight and perspective for any person in business, especially small-medium businesses. Daniel shows you what you don't realise you don't know, and how it works, and what is the general best approach to guide your way. Things I've always wondered about, he opens the black box on the next level we want to achieve but haven't been able to look into. It is a bonus that the knowledge shared in this book also comes from a South African perspective.

Narrator was easy to listen to and well matched. I turned-up the listening speed, did not take long to complete the content. Will revisit due to all the good advice contained

Insightful

If you don't have a clue about entrepreneurship, you might not understand it fully. As a Superyacht Chief Stewardess this book has reminded me of the life I live but also that I want to be on the other side of what my profession offers. Insightful and interesting notes on working with other entrepreneurs to help one another become successful together in different areas as well as the growth mentality and gentil reminder that the world doesn't wait for you - you need to keep up. Many great little nuggets in there, thanks Daniel, I look forward to listening to the next one.

Just ok

A sales pitch for why you should embrace Equity financing. Does not balance the positive potential with the big negatives. Never mentions one caution to giving away your equity.
