Spraying truth to power to save lives

All good but done chapters were a bit too long. Could get to the point with fewer examples All rise good

Terrible narrator - great book

Excellent story construction, using table top exercise ays a basis for content development. The narrator is TERRIBLE: weird, inappropriate slow downs and word emphasis. If the book’s content hadn’t been so interesting, I would have quit.

Important well written and detailed

Comprehensive and not to be missed if you really want to know what happened and what needs to be done that wasn’t and isn’t. A must read. Sadly ,those that should read it probably won’t.

Difficult Narrator

Fascinating content and story. Narrator makes it difficult to follow with uneven pacing dictation. Cannot continue listening.

The volume and depth of the information provided.

Ideally, everyone who can read should read this, but since that won’t happen, those who do read it have a responsibility to disseminate at least parts of it whenever we can to those who might listen. Members of the media especially have a responsibility to report facts rather than just inflammatory opinions that get them more clicks. Dr. Osterholm’s expertise after a lifetime of experience make him an extremely credible source for these facts. His recommendations for future planning are the best we can do based on what we know now.

Horrific and predictable

The hypothetical Big One is a logical extension of what we've already gone through over the last five years. And the authors draw extensively from what happened and what should have happened during Covid. Yet I fear no lessons have been learned and planning for The Big One has already gone out the window on the instructions of RFK Jr.

Hell awaits!!!

The review of SARS COV2 2019-present

I liked the candid review of every step in the Covid epidemic. It was far more complicated than using standard influenza prevention measures. The degree it overwhelmed our medical systems was astonishing and complicated by an ignorant Trump government hell bent on sparing business pain by sacrificing humans.

in 2020, Americans were dropping like flies, but the current government does not seem to not care about preparedness. Hope that unemployed CDC talent can take jobs in other countries to save us when the big one materializes.

For now, keep a stockpile of N95's, boot Republicans from all levels of government and hope for the best.

Information is appreciated

I always find this author’s books educational. This one is has covered the covid experience well. I most appreciated his coverage of Kennedy and Trump’s wrong path on health care. I find both Trump and Kennedy a horror story for future heath crisis. I shall always look forward to this author’s books.

Very educational and too true

The author’s experience and expertise shows a path forward where we could improve our odds of weathering the Big One. Unfortunately these lessons are being ignored to the risk of our health. The lessons he gives is a path forward with the best evidence today and knowing that recommendations must be able to change depending on what is happening. A general knows his best laid battle plans will change once a conflict starts.

A valuable contribution

As painful as it is to recall the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to do so. We must come to terms with the facts: it could have been worse, and there will be another one someday. Osterholm and Olshaker conclude be making a strong case for increasing our level of preparedness, starting now.
