Publisher's Summary

From the moment Alexei Miles sets eyes on the kickboxing instructor at his new gym, he's enthralled. She's strong and sexy, and he senses something in her that speaks to his deepest desires. Bored of meaningless one-night stands, Alexei vows to find out more about the beautiful badass. He hopes his senses are correct - that her desires will match his own, and that his period of unsatisfying sexual encounters is over.

Zoe Harrison notices the new guy as soon as he walks into the gym - difficult not to, really, given he's a six-feet-plus gorgeous Viking. As well as being attractive, he awakens something deep inside that she'd almost forgotten about. Men that can handle Zoe's busy lifestyle are few and far between. Add to that her very specific sexual appetites and it's little wonder she's been single for so long. Is the Viking about to change all that?

Note: The Beauty and the Badass has been previously released as part of the Dirty Doms boxed set.

I Received This Work In Exchange for My Unbiased

Zoe is working out at a gym when Alexei spies her. She is strong and sexy and he wants her. She sees him and thinks the exact same thought… They get together, but will such a strong woman give into Alexei's dominant tendencies?

That is the plot. Lucy Felthouse does not try to expand or deviate from this. There is no time for it – listening time is less than one hour and 20 minutes. This is a quick, 'naughty' book to take your mind off the housework or running errands.

Scarlet Jackson is a wonderful narrator. I adore her accent!

need more..

This was a cute short story with a hot scene as the dessert but i felt like I needed "more". I needed to get a little more invested in the characters for the short to fulfill me. I would love to try a different book by this author as i think I would enjoy a full length book by them. Just felt a little unfulfilled with this. To each their own, though~ I would still recommend checking it out though for the "dessert" alone :)

Note: I received this book free from Audioboom in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. It in no way affected my opinion.

Not my cuppa

Even though this is a short story, I expected some "story" but nope it's basically boy meets girl and lots of wannabe BDSM. No character development or story. Meh

All roads lead to spanking...

The story was ok - really quick and simplistic. Not quite instalust/love but close - boy and girl meet, are immediately attracted to each other from afar, go out on first date, realize they have certain proclivities in common, cut date short to play, and the story ends there. The narration just didn’t work for me and there were bits where the audio was choppy and muddled sounding. 2.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Horrible production

I am shocked at the positive reviews. The book comes in at just over an hour and I couldn’t finish it because of the awful narration, editing, production. The volume goes up and down, all kinds of background noise and the worst, the reason I quit listening, every time the narrator said a word containing the letter ‘p’ she about blew out my eardrum. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Good Story!

This was a good, quick and fast story. Zoe and Alexei coming together was rather quick. I wish their was more character development. Scarlett Jackson did an ok job with narration.

Short and sexy

Audio version.
This is a quick listen a bit over an hour and 15 minutes. Personally I prefer a bit more to a story, it could have used a little more character development.
The narrator was good, fast talking though. It felt rushed.
This Audio book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher, author or narrator and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Entertaining Great world building Page-turner, Steamy, Wonderful characters.

Cracking short story with great characters.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this. Unlike most of the BDSM-themed erotic romance I’ve read (or listened to), this is as much about the budding relationship as the steamy scenes. It came across as pretty true-to-life to me. It’s set in the UK, but not in London, with two characters who tell us their story in alternate chapters. Both are hesitant about starting a new relationship due to concern that the other doesn’t share their kinky tastes. I don’t think I’m giving much away by hinting that their anxieties are unfounded...

The audible audiobook brought it to life, as the narrator has a regional accent (from the Liverpool area, I suspect), and not only gave Alexei and Zoe distinct voices and accents, but showed their personalities.

My only criticism of her performance is that it seemed a little rushed at times, and I’d have liked a slightly longer pause between sentences.
