Publisher's Summary

Tessa O'Connell is a girl as in love as possible. For a moment she had it all: friends, family, and the promise of a forever love. But could she end up losing it all? The crippling pain of heartbreak is fresh, and as Tessa struggles to move on in the wake of tragedy, her goal becomes to protect her heart at all costs. But it's a task not made easy by the devastatingly gorgeous Cole Stone, who seems to have shattered her beyond repair.

As Cole and Tessa manage to find their way back to one another, they embark on yet another new chapter in their lives. While attempting to navigate her first year of college, it becomes apparent to Tessa that everyone has their eyes set on Cole Stone. When status quo, clingy college girls, old insecurities, and her slightly neurotic tendencies cause her to question whether she can actually make the relationship work, it's up to Cole to show her that he's never letting go, not again. But even for Cole Grayson Stone it's not easy to convince his Shortcake of his never ending devotion as time apart, communication problems, and a quirky new group of friends start to unravel the delicate thread that binds the two together. Can the boy who once protected her from the world protect Tessa from herself?

Warning: The book comes with a bad boy desperate to win back the love of his life. He's going to fight dirty and he's willing to go down on his knees and beg. If you thought Cole Stone was swoon-worthy before, wait till you see him get the girl.

Really Mad that It's a Cliffhanger

I loved this book. I loved the first one. I waited to read this series until this one came out because I hate waiting for ever for the next book to come out. I would not have read this series had I of known it wasn't finished. It really made me mad when I got half way through this book and realized that there was another one to come after this and this one was left on a cliffhanger. It's hard telling when the next one will come out. I think if they are left on this big of a cliffhanger then they should publish all books at once. I don't know if I'll read the last one. Really mad.

Just horrible!!!!

Unlike other reviews this will not be a praise to the book or to the author but it will be an honest one. I think the writer had a really good story idea. The concept of the story would have been really good if written in a better way. The main female character was just too depressing and annoying to listen to. She is selfish, and dwells in self pity. Like I said this book had a good concept and could have gone in any direction but listening to Tessa with her self hate was just depressing. Not to mention Cole was just as pathetic, they both were just so depressing to listen to. One moment Tessa loves Cole the next she hates his guts. I don’t know if the author knows what Love is but this is not Love. This story is about two pathetic selfish individuals who only care about themselves. As a matter of fact, all the characters in this story are selfish her mom, her dad, her brother, her best friend’s mother, Jay, Nicole. These characters are not good ppl they are selfish and bad examples of what Love truly looks like. Now with that said I do like some characters like her friend Megan, and Beth which both seem to have better stories to tell than Tessa. If you have not read the story let me break down for you. Tessa was the fat girl who got skinny. She was bullied by her ex-BFF, and Cole when she was younger. You can see half way through the first book in the series he is actually in love with her and used to bully her in order for to take notice of him. She was so in love with his step brother Jay. He is protecting her and trying to build her self-esteem. But Tessa hates who she is and breaks every single thing down in her head. It is very annoying to hear the female character constantly bash themselves over and over again. By the time the second book comes around they got into a huge fight he said some messed up crap and she hates his guts. My biggest problem with both characters is they both overreact to everything. There is no talking to one another, they both act like children. When she slices herself “by mistake” looking on at her brother & BFF happy together, I was done. Tessa needs a lot of therapy, the fact that she is allowed to dwell in her self pity about something so dumb is either bad writing or the character is pathetic. Tessa is not a sympathetic character where you could feel her pain, she is just a drama queen who makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Majority of her and Cole’s problem would be solved if they just spoke to one another. This book series is horrible. Do not waste a credit!!! Author has potential but in the end her characters were just too pathetic for me to care. From a female perspective, this girl is the worst girl to find inspiring. She is whiny and pitiful. I understand that she starts off as a teen who is just experiencing her first love but this girl is too dramatic and too annoying. The adults in her life shouldn’t encourage this horrible behavior. She says mean things to hurt Cole because he hurt her by mistake, it makes her mean-spirited. She enjoys making him feel bad because he made her feel bad about herself. She is right she deserves to be miserable! I hope the author writes better characters in the future.

Terrible ending and no follow up book

Book had no story arc and just went on and on with no point. Then it just ends without anything happening. And there is no book #3.

Was disappointed

I read both books and got hooked I played this story on chapters and was excited to see how it all played out but the ending was a hanger. It didn’t end it just left you wondering. So my initial feeling at the end ( I hate books or movies that don’t have an ending) it was a waste of a credit and 25 hours of my life that ended in a disappointment. If there is going to be another book to wrap it all up and place an actual ending on it I will be more then happy to add a better review but as of right now I am very disappointed with the ending.

Still Love

I still very much enjoy the story of Tessa and Cole's relationship. Sometimes there is a bit of too much drama for my liking but it is still very enjoyable. I do like the growth that happens with all or most of the characters. I must say that as someone who does go to college and to hear about what Tessa goes through it does make me wonder if what happens to her even slightly happens to others. It really does make me wonder. Something else that also made me curious was the whole Jessica Rabbit thing. Is that a real thing?? 😂 Other than that, I think that the narration was great and I really liked the changes in voice when it is a different character speaking.

Just Fine

I listened to this one out of a feeling of obligation. The first book wasnt a favorite but I wanted to know what happened. I'm still just as disturbed at the end about how the author is portraying such a negative, unhealthy relationship and the characters aren't having any growth at all.

This writer has potential, she can set a hook, but she cannot deliver the goods!

Book two in The Bad Boys series is a monotonous droning on about Tessa's low self esteem wrapped inside her inflated ego. I don't know how many more books in this vein one must read to reach the whole point of this story! Blair Holden has done readers a disservice by dragging this story out through multiple books! She should take a lesson from Stephanie Meyers and make each book a gem into itself. Holden has the talent, and the work ethic to type for hours, judging by this word vomit! She simply lacks an awareness, or an interest in her readers enjoyment.

The ending made no sense

The ending was severely disappointing for me. I was really enjoying the books and it just feels unresolved and unfinished for me. Unless Blair Holden is thinking of writing a third one?🤷🏻‍♀️

The Bad Boys Heart

Overall really like the storyline, and love the characters within. But was disappointed with the cliffhanger and ultimately i’m now desperate for book 3.
