Good beginner book for basic conversational skills

"I’m happy to say, I learned a lot while listening to this audiobook. I took tons of notes, and so will pick and choose the sections I think were most valuable. Overall, though, this is well worth your time to listen to. Everyone can come out with something from this book. The section on how to deal with people who are hard of hearing and deaf was wonderful. As an aware person, I always want to be inclusive. Now I have practical tips on how to converse with people with hearing issues. I especially liked the idea of a talking stick in a large group of people. It is a way of showing the person who is hard of hearing who is speaking, but it is also a visual reminder to others that speaking over each other is unhelpful. In fact, I think there are many times when a talking stick would be helpful in other interactions."

Everyone should read this book

"I was lucky enough to be chosen to review this audiobook. Jason Miller did a wonderful job of narrating this book. It is a quick listen but so full of information. My Mom who is 80 listened with me and said she learned a lot. I will listen again and again because you gleam new information each time you listen. I think everyone should read or listen to this book. Everyone could use this info no matter their age or gender."

Exceptional book. Straight to the point.

"I loved the book and that it covered off on a number of different regularly occurring scenarios. My only recommendation would be to title the chapter in the audio book so listeners can revisit chapters at a later time that are pertinent to them. Thank you for the valuable insights from your life experiences. I am definitely putting things into perspective and will use in every conversation. I understand relationships are key and can provide long lasting memories in life so every conversation can teach you to be better and live a life you can cherish. Have a blissful life..!"

Great work!

"A great refresher on basics I have not implemented regularly, and helping me think about my speaking skills as I am stepping up my game as a leader in my field. Breakdown in communication can cause many problems, but I want to be part of the solution as much as possible. This book helps with this. Would love to see tips for handling confrontation and negative people though."

So glad I purchased.

"After making it through this book I honestly can’t tell if the timing lines up with other things in my life but at some point in the middle a loft of the apprehension I had of starting conversations with others is gone. It feels like a literal weight has been lifted off of my soldiers and I don’t feel as reluctant to partake in conversations with other people.
It was good! I can’t say that all conversation openers were relevant to real life, but it’s still was helpful book! It was worth getting just for learning about ‘conversation offenses’! This book can definitely help you to get more mindful!"
