Story
Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

Story
We have a leadership crisis today, where even though our world has changed drastically, our leadership style has not. Most organizations, teams, schools, and families today still operate from a model of “command and control,” focusing on hierarchies and compliance from people. But because of the changing nature of the world, the workforce, work itself, and the choices we have for where and how to work and live, this way of leading is drastically outdated.

Simple implementable ideas but problems with the supporting resources
Simple implementable ideas but I had problems accessing the supporting resources. Lots of great examples demonstrating how the disciplines work in vArious different teams. However, the URLs mentioned in the audio did not work. Think would have also been better to put the links in the attached PDF as I spent a lot of time finding and replaying to find the links for the extra resources that then didn’t work. I did email Franklin Covey who did at least reply with the correct links

Probably best to read rather than listen
The concepts here are great. Of course this book by definition is useless without action. I suspect the disciplines are hard to implement without considerable practice and coaching. Nevertheless, great methodology, I just wish I was reading this book with notepad and pen, rather than listening whilst exercising.

Great Material - One Reader is Distracting In Perf
I love the content. The production is moderate. One author/reader put too much voice inflection in his performance. Jim Huling is a great mind and enthusiastic but his enthusiasm was distracting to the point that I couldn't concentrate on the material content. I probably would need to purchase the physical book to overcome this. as a note, I listen and learn through audio books extensively.

Annoying reading
The Authors who also perform this audiobook have an annoying tendency to inject small laughs into their sentences “you know, to keep the mood light and positive”. This is an annoying idiosyncrasy that seems fake to me. Once you hear it you can’t not hear it. Principles are great though. I would prefer to read it rather than this annoying audible performance.

Finally completed my first ever WIG...
It took me longer to complete the book (reading earlier) , but as I started to listen then it took me just 3 days to finish off. (thanks to Audible)
Nicely narrated by authors, easy to understand with self experience which I was able to relate. Last, one of my manager back from 2006-2007 who gave mantra as 'EXECUTE, EXECUTE AND EXECUTE ', this book give me more clarity which I missed years back.
Must read to clear Strategy vs Execution.

Interesting
So many topics covered here that I have contemplated for decades. this helped galvanize my thinking. the reference to the PDF was my one negative observation... perhaps it's impossible to avoid, but I consume audio because time is limited and audio+exercise = healthy mind & body. the PDF references make the equation somewhat challenging. Still a solid concept. Well done.

Excellent content, narration was awful
This is an excellent framework for organizational goal setting and management, and driving toward goals with a clear and effective methodology. I share pieces of this information to my customer organizations to help focus on success in delivery and product deployment.
The content is great but one of the narrators is absolutely insufferable. He chuckles through every other sentence making the listening experience so irritating I had a hard time getting through it. The other narrator was fine, but for the sake of the bad one I would rate performance 0 stars if I could. They should re-record this with a new narrator.
