Publisher's Summary

A series of shootings exposes San Francisco to a methodical yet unpredictable killer, and a reluctant woman decides to put her trust in Sergeant Lindsay Boxer. The confidential informant's tip leads Lindsay to disturbing conclusions, including that something has gone horribly wrong inside the police department itself.

The hunt for the killer lures Lindsay out of her jurisdiction, and gets inside Lindsay in dangerous ways. She suffers unsettling medical symptoms, and her friends and confidantes in the Women's Murder Club warn Lindsay against taking the crimes too much to heart. With lives at stake, the detective can't help but follow the case into ever more terrifying terrain.

A decorated officer, loving wife, devoted mother, and loyal friend, Lindsay's unwavering integrity has never failed her. But now she is confronting a killer who is determined to undermine it all.

Another spell binding Women's Murder Club novel. One winner after another! This was touching, deeply human and inspiring. Thankyou for the great entertainment! The only tough part is waiting a year for the next one. oh joy!

Great sequel (as always)

I liked the story line. 17 books and little to no duplication in story lines.

A change of pace

Compared to the other Women’s Murder Club, this book is quite benign and quiet. It was a nice change of pace as there were not many players, it stays in the present ( not jumping around in time) not much blood shed and an ending that did not leave you wondering why. I will be awaiting to see what kind of trouble the girls get into next.

Too Little after so long

I've read every book in this series and after waiting so long for this one I felt it didn't deliver much. DA wouldn't have used a witness with that strong a connection without vetting him. I liked the homeless part of the book but the trial part didn't work and the whole book was too short.

I love this series

but I hope it ends here. I feel like 15 jumped the shark, 16 put us back on track, and 17 has given us a good ending. Please don't jump the shark again!

I missed the girls!

Oh and Conklin and the guys too. Great story line. Enjoyed getting updated on their lives. Ready for 18! Keep ‘me coming James and Max!

predictable

I have read many books in this series and the banter between the girls is quite predictable and at times a little sappy. The story line was pretty good however

Not the best but better than previous

I’ve been listening on Audible for the last half dozen of these. This is not the best Women’s Murder Club Story, but it IS better than the last couple of them. Maybe there is still some hope. I think January LaVoy is a fine reader for the audible version, but I really do miss Carolyn McCormick’ sultry tone.

A little boring

Not your typical intensifying Patterson book. Not something I'd read again. I always usually love them, this one not so much.
