Publisher's Summary

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

    "Very Adorkable :D"

I really enjoyed this story more that I expected .. it was such a breath of fresh air to me and it's been a while since I was last immersed myself in a story like that .. it made me smile the kind of smile that made my cheeks hurt and I still kept smiling, I LOVED the main characters Elle and Darien and I was shipping them so hard that I finished the whole book in one day
I did have a problem with the audio quality, I noticed there were a lot of repeated sentences and the male narrator sometimes forgets to say some words, but overall this book was amazing and highly recommended

    "Absolutely Loved it!!😍😍😍"

Both narrations and the story were perfect. This is the first time I felt so connected to a main character in a story. My favorite part was was not just the texts but when Elle started converting Sage to a Star Gunner and kept Darian updated on the progress. it was one my most favorite scenes after Darian's first stunt scene for the movie and second to the last few scenes when Sage breaks entry into the Country club.

"Fresh new take on the Cinderella tale"

I'm what you would call an older woman :-), but I always love a good Cinderella spin off. This book was a nice and well done. The storyline was modernized and well written. If you were looking for a light fun read this is it. Regarding the audiobook though, there are a lot of editing errors, such as repeated sentences. But I easily overlooked those as I enjoyed the story so much.

    "Bad editing"

The story itself is a fun spin on a classic Cinderella story. The editing of the audio book however definitely needs working on. Multiple times there are lines which are repeated for no reason and other bad editing notes.

    "Delightful and fun"

This is a very fun modern retelling of xCinderella. It is especially great for anyone with a love of fandoms. It also struck a particular chord with me, because it reminded me of my special relationship with my own father.

"Good story; it's YA but I enjoyed it!"

This story is definitely a YA but it's cool how it has so many Cinderella nods in it. I was frustrated by the heroine's lack of ability to stand up for herself but she had principles so she didn't want to harm others in her own defense (still frustrated me!).
It's an enjoyable story and I recommend it for a change of pace if you're not a YA.

    "Geekerella"

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I love modern day Cinderella stories and this book was exactly that. I like that it was fandom related. Besides fanfiction I can't usually find stories that I can relate to and this one I definitely could do that with. The only problem I had with it is, it switches narrators with every new chapter and the male narrator was pretty annoying. Instead of being able to forget that I'm listening to a story, I was painfully aware of it whenever it switched to his chapters. The female narrator was really good. She's what made me continue to read it chapter after chapter. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry.

    "So good!"

I kept hearing how good this book was so when I saw it was a daily deal I just had to get it. I was not disappointed. The story is a geeky version of Cinderella- exactly what you would expect from the title. It's very good and I wished I had had the time to listen all the way through without stopping. There are 2 narrators- one male and one female. The male is good but the female narrator is GREAT! She really did an excellent job and it was always clear which character she was reading.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd absolutely recommend this book it's a very entertaining listen.

What about Eileen Stevens and Tristan Morris ’s performance did you like?

They were generally very good, but someone should have made sure they both knew how to pronounce some of the words associated with the geekdoms the characterd talked about - I mean not knowing how to pronounce Dalek is a pretty obvious mistake.
