Never Disappoints

Rachel Gibson is one of my absolute favorite authors. I was thrilled to see one of her books finally available on Audible. As always, her books never fail to disappoint...she is witty, a great story line and her characters are always interesting. Note of warning on this one...she can be a bit graphic at times!! I'm looking forward to more selections from Rachel soon, I hope!

Loved this book to the very end!

What a great listen. Mattie and Mick were so well written you could feel all the emotions. This book pulled me and I and just couldn't stop listening. I only hope that we get more from this writer/narrator combo. Both were fantastic!

Not my favorite

While the storyline was good, it ended too abruptly. There are several untied ends and it just didn't feel done.

Also, the narrator was super awkward in parts. some of the dialogue was much too stiff and didn't feel at all natural of the books in this series I've read, this is my least favorite.

This book is the best!

Funny story of an amazingly strong woman and her fantastical life! Gibson has the ability to create characters which are both believable and interesting! Really enjoyed listening to this one, the narrator is great! The sex scenes are the most graphic I've ever heard, but that made the book even better! :)

It didn't tangle me...

Mick's father was having an affair with Maddie's mother. Mick's mother found out and killed them, and then committed suicide. Twenty nine years later Maddie came back to Trulie to write a book about the tragedy, never expecting to find Mick so irresistible. This story was good but it dragged a bit. Although it was only a little over 8 hours long it felt like double that time. But the last chapter was so so good! I just loved the ending.

The narrator did a good job but definitely not her best. Ive listened to other books narrated by ms. Poole and those were much better. This story had lots of hot sex but it was not that big on the romance.

Boring!!!

I wasn't going to leave a review for Tangled Up in You because, this was just a re-read for me. I read the series on paperback when it was first released in 2006 but, this is my first time listening to it on Audible. OMG, this book was sooooooo boring! Tangled Up in You was a virtual snooze fest. I don't remember the paperback being this bad. On top of that, the narrator was HORRIBLE! You could hear her swallowing and taking deeps breaths throughout the entire book. Do you have any idea how gross that is?!!! How is it some thing like that got past editing?!!! Does the author not listen to a final cut of an audiobook before it's recorded?!!! Kathleen Early did a phenomenal job narrating the first two books. Why didn't they just let her narrate the entire series?!!! Ugh! I hate when multiple people narrate a series. Needless to say, I am NOT looking forward to listening to Not Another Bad Date with Nicole Poole as the narrator.

Mouse Trap 500

What made the experience of listening to Tangled Up in You the most enjoyable?

This was a mix of Linda Howard's After the Night, my all time fave book and a mix of RG own imagination. Good use of her outline and HEAE.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mick, just a good all around guy who is going forward and had a great attitude.

What aspect of Nicole Poole’s performance would you have changed?

Ms Poole reads as Justine O'Keef in the Erotic genre. So if you like erotica and Ms Poole, try Olivia Cunning Sinners series. I have requested a list of AKA for readers because some I love and some, I just will not re listen. Audible is great in their programs so as long as they partner up in a great listen, then I can venture out on new readers. Ms Poole read 2 of RG books, I own but did not realize she had an AKA name and I had listened to her before. I am on the fence with her recording voice. Other reviews had mixed views, but I did not agree with the pause issue. I just am unsure if I even like her reading voice so my 2nd RG book will given me another op to see if I even want to continue buying her recordings. Many listeners buy for the story, I buy for the reader as many good ones can read the phone book and it is entertaining.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I purchased about 6 to 8 RG books all at once as I did not know which one to start and all the stories had good "fun" reviews. Some are better and had more humor, the hockey team, and the Truly connection seem to have a different message, but since I have only gotten through 1 not sure if Truly stories are for me. I needed a laugh hence RG books. The jury is still out on this author for me.

Nice 'read'!

I did enjoy story. it was definitely different. I believe Ms. Poole's narration helped keep me listening. That and it was quite sexy. I would surely suggest it to other readers and I will try another book by Rachel Gibson.
