Great Chick Lit

I enjoyed True Love and Other Disasters. This is my first Rachel Gibson book but it won’t be my last. If you are looking for a good chick lit read then this is it. Susan Bennett did a great job as narrator, the men were not very manly but after about an hour you get used to it and don’t even notice anymore. I only wish this book had been spun into a series like Susan Elizabeth Phillips Chicago Stars series, I would like to read more about the Seattle Hockey team.

Skipped forward

The story was good but last two chapters she made the heroine turn into a helpless weenie . I had to forward past it.
That behavior was more appropriate for her in the beginning…. Not the end!!!

good book

I like a story with a # happy ending. This one was a good contemporary #feelgood with #quirkyfamilies The performance was pretty good and did not detract from the story. This book has a good laugh or two #funny.

Love it!

Rachel Gibson is one of my absolute favorite authors. This was one of the first books I read by her and the audible version was no disappointment. The narration was great! Just how I would have read it myself.

wow I bought this thinking it might MIGHT help me through a boring day. Wow it was everything I really was looking for but didn't expect. The only thing that would have made this audio better for me would be different narrations. The best 2 would be from they hockey series bound, captive, drive and at any price. I think those two she be married are required to to be a set on any book. I heard each separate or with others, yet together they made a really good great.

Probably not. It was not funny enough (which I like) and it veered more towards soft porn, which I did not expect.

More humor.

Yes I would. I listened to this story during the long drives I have to take for work daily- this story made me want to stay in the car a little longer to hear more.

The firey relationship between the two main characters.

No I haven't.
She's a great reader. Nothing abboying about her voice.

It did make me laugh and giggle at times.

The story didn't start out great. I considered switching books but I did listen a little longer and it got better and better.

A hockey fantasy

Another Chinook championship.This story continues with another sexy hockey player player finding love and happiness

Hockey has never been this hot...

A good story + a great narrator= an amazing audiobook you'll want to listen over and over again. When Faith Duffy's elderly husband passes away, he leaves her a whole lot of money and a hockey team as well. She was a stripper, turned Playboy bunny, turned trophy wife for the past five years. And she has absolutely no idea how to manage a hockey team. Landon (Faith's stepson who happens to be older than her) is bitter than she got any inheritance at all and will try anything in his power to destroy her. (Something like when Anna Nicole Smith became a widow). Faith hires an assistant and becomes very involved with the team (specially the captain Ty Savage).

The story is believable and interesting. The romance is sweet, hot and intense. My knowledge and interest in hockey was 0 before this book and I ended up enjoying learning about hockey. The story does make references about the game but in an interesting way that was very appropriate for the story. This is a series, and Audible does not have all the books in the series available. This is book 4 of the CHinooks Hockey Team but it can very well be read as a stand alone. Book 5 in the series is Nothing But Trouble which I'll start listening to as soon as I finish this review.

Narration: Susan Bennett did a great job with this audiobook. All of her character voices were distinct and boy oh boy she can make a steamy scene sound sizzling hot!!! There are several steamy scenes in the book and she does such a convincing portrayal of both characters that it was like she was there. I can only imagine the sound engineer who was there with her while recording uff...

I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy a good contemporary romance story with interesting and likable characters, steamy romance and great narration.
