Publisher's summary

In the lawless stars, life is cheap. But death has a price....

Struggling to return home to Dominion space, an engine malfunction strands Talon in a lawless region of the galaxy known as the Gyre.

Eager to earn a few chips and repair his ship, the former gladiator puts his deadly skills to use as a bounty hunter. Powering up his trusty plasma axe, Talon sets off for a desolate outpost world, in pursuit of a savage murderer hiding somewhere in the planet’s dusty streets.

But Talon isn’t the only one tracking this fugitive. The warrior soon finds himself battling an army of outlaws led by a brutal cybernetic killer — a madman seeking to plunder a legendary alien fortress of untold power.

If this conqueror succeeds in unleashing the forbidden technology within, he will plunge the galaxy into armageddon, sending billions of souls to a fiery death.

And the only thing standing in his way is a bounty hunter named Talon....

An Excellent addition to the world of Swords and Planets

First, I received this audiobook at my request and leave this review.
That being said, this is a fantastic continuation of the Talon series. You can start with this book, but you will not enjoy it as much if you don’t read/listen to the first two.
Sean Duregger narrates this third installment. While the first two were narrated by another, Sean does a splendid job and his voice and skill carries the day.
Anyone who ever enjoyed authors such as Leigh Brackett and Edmond Hamilton should really check out this series. I doubt that you will be disappointed.

Bounty hunters and mad mechs!

The adventures of Talon continue on the audio front, as the mysterious warrior tries his hand as a bounty hunter, and finds himself tested against his most deadly adversary yet: a mechanical menace haunted by the tragic and terrifying ghost of a long-dead warrior. I've been waiting for an audio edition and this does not disappoint. The narrator takes great care in pronouncing the tale for the listening audience, and does a fine job with the characters' different 'voices,' ranging from menacing to comic. Fans and newcomers to Talon's adventures will have a treat.
I received a free copy of this audiobook for a fair review.

Take a deep breath!

You'll need it to keep up. Non stop action that kept you into the story to the end. The narrator has a great range of voices. All the characters could be seen and their personalities brought to life in your mind. Awesome performance, great combination of author and narrator.

A Fun, Swashbuckling SF Adventure

My first experience with the Talon series was a wild ride. While I expect that skipping the first two books caused me to miss some things, A. A. Warren did an excellent job of keeping the story accessible for new readers. Sean Duregger did a great job narrating, using a wide range of distinct voices to bring the story to life. It’s a fun story that I enjoyed. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great! You should read the first two though!

Overall a well-written book and I did enjoy it. If you didn't read the first two, it is a bit difficult to grasp the setting in the book but overall, it is not hard to follow along if you did not. This is a great Sci-Fi book with a good plot, fantastic characters and a great storyline. I loved it!

Exciting Sci Fi!

Well written and full of action. Event description well thought out by author. Narration performed well with excellent vocal pressure! End of story leaves a need for a sequel, but could actually stand alone as an adventure.
I would recommend this audiobook for ages 17 and older due to some sexual innuendos and violence.
I was given this audiobook for free and I freely give it my rating and opinion
