Everything you've heard about modeling is true, and you haven't heard the half of it.
It's glamorous.
It's sexy.
And yes, the line between work and reality often blurs.
We're not just prototypes of perfection. Models have feelings and desires, too. We may be genetically gifted, but we're still human.
I'm only human. Yes, an extraordinary specimen that earns more in a day than most make in a year, but this eight pack didn't create itself. I spend hours working on this body. The good looks just come natural. *Winks* Thanks, Mom and Dad.
I'm Danny Weston, supermodel.
But one path was traded for another when I chose this career. Ten years later, I would trade my career to have it back. To have her back.
Reese Carmichael is the one woman I would give it all up for, and the only one I can't have. Yet.

A Sweet Second Chance Romance

Sweet Talk is a second chance romance. Danny and Reese met in college with a plan. They were on the road to marriage when Danny’s modeling career took off. Reese was a young, insecure woman and conflicted when she saw the pictures of Danny with the hot supermodels. She walked away because the hurt was too much. Danny wasn’t a cheater, but he wasn’t honest about his schedule and in town less and less putting a strain on their relationship.
Fast forward ten years. Reese is responsible for promoting a designer’s men’s line. It is her big break to a promotion she wants badly. Reese knows that Danny is the perfect face for Vinnie’s clothes. What she doesn’t know is how working closely with the man who still holds her heart will impact the job.
What I like about the story and the audio:
I love second chances. I know this sounds like a broken record, but I can’t help it. A second chance romance rarely lets me down. The story is well-rounded and gives me a little of everything I like. The characters are more mature (for the most part) the second time around. They laugh, cry, build a little angst, and have some fun and sexy roll-in-the-hay times.
The narrators do a good job bringing Danny and Reese to life. This is the first audio where the male narrator Eric Rolan and the female narrator Kylie Stewart switched back and forth throughout the book. Eric read all the male parts, and Kylie reads all the female roles regardless of the point of view. I liked that. This narration methodology kept me thinking about the characters, and I stayed in their heads throughout the story.
The life of a model and the business surrounding them is nicely fleshed out and relayed to the reader. Ms. Scott writes the secondary characters (another draw for me) beautifully. Love Vinnie. He is one of the best over-the-top characters with a heart that I’ve met lately. Luke, Danny’s friend, Becs, and Mark add substance to the story. Keaton is the “bad guy.” It only takes one appearance to hate him enough to be the character I love to hate.
What doesn’t sit right:
My major negative about the story itself is that I don’t remember Danny and Reese discussing what made things go wrong in the first place. The reader knows from flashbacks and internal dialogs, but Danny and Reese never discuss why she wasn’t there when Danny came home.
Secondly, this couple didn’t learn to communicate after all these years. Lack of communication broke them apart in the first place; now ten years later Reese decides she wants to handle her problem alone. The sad thing is it blindsides Danny and catches him off-guard. I hated that they didn’t talk about Reese’s business problem.
The audio. This is nitpicking but Kylie said envelop (as in the letter wrapping) instead of envelop (to wrap in someone’s arms). It brought me out of the moment a couple of times while my mind adjusted to the actual meaning. It is the same thing with compromise. In the audio it is pronounced as co promise. The first time I had to rewind because it didn’t make sense.
Anyway, Ms. Scott is a great writer. Sweet Talk works well as a standalone even though there are other books in the series. I’m interested in learning about the other characters. I hope they are audiobooks too. Sweet Talk is a fun story that works nicely as an audiobook. The narrators do a good job bringing the story to life. I will listen again when I need a sweet, easy read while I drive. Ms. Scott has me hooked.

Sexy hot second chance romance
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Reese has worked hard to ensure the success of her marketing career and although she knows that letting Danny near her again could be devastating to her heart he is the best man for the job.
When Reese and Danny went their separate ways, it wasn’t because they didn’t love each other and from the moment they see each other again their connection and chemistry is stronger than ever. Things are complicated by the past that still needs to be resolved as well as fraternizing is a violation of the contract. Their journey to recapture what they once had is tested which forces them to make a choice about what is really important. Danny is determined to get his soulmate back and Reese has regretted her decision to end things every day since but can they overcome the obstacles that stand in their way?
This story was told in duaI narration and I did enjoy the back and forth. The voice of Vinny, one of the secondary characters, seemed so real and brought a few chuckles.
