Publisher's Summary

From the author of New York Times best sellers Easy and Breakable - a new standalone novel in the Contours of the Heart series.

He's the love of her life, but he doesn't know it. She's his one moment of sacrifice in a lifetime of survival. He was damaged and wild but resilient. She's always been obedient; now she's restless. Home for the summer between college and med school, Pearl Torres Frank knows two things: Boyce Wynn is the embodiment of everything she should run from and everything she wants to run to. Rebellious and loud. Unconcerned with society's opinion of him. Passionate. Strong. Dangerous. And one more trait he hides from everyone but her: Sweet.

It was......sweet.

2.5 Stars. The story was ok. It was kinda sweet but nothing earth shattering. The ending seemed a bit rushed. I will say this story is slightly off the usual romance formula. In that there isn't a "big misunderstanding" or "break up" of the characters. However the "ex-boyfriend" showing up after many many months out of the blue, was a bit contrived. I LOVED Easy from this author and liked her teen series. She didn't delve into sex scenes in those books. But in Sweet, she does. It feels awkward. I'm not sure the author is entirely comfortable writing them. Also the author's son, Zachary, was just ok in this performance. I love this young man's voice and have heard him before. But he was a bit flat. Christy was pretty solid, using southern or "hick" accents for some of the characters.

Love!

This novel was exactly what it's title suggested...sweet. The narrators were absolutely amazing transporting me to the small town and making me fall madly in love with it. They brought the characters to life flawlessly and the world seriously fell away. I loved every minute of it.

I Really Enjoyed This Book

A big fan of Easy and Breakable, I was jazzed even i happened upon this book only a few days after it's release. And I'd had not heard of it before that day, to boot. which an enjoyable thing . as opposed to counting month's, weeks and days, anxiously waiting and waiting for "the next book" as I no doubt would have been doing.
I was looking fwd to getting to know more about Boyce and Pearl. I really grew to like him in Breakable. His loyalty, underlying compassion, keen perception, with Landon and quick wit made him a stand out. And Pearl was enigmatic enough to make me curious. So i didn't waste a moment. and grabbed it immediately.
I was not at all disappointed. I enjoyed listening to their story unfold. Especially, the going back to the start of it all
I really enjoy Christy Romano and Zachary Webber's narrations. This was my first time hearing Christy. She's very good, a nice voice, great with Accents and all. I've listened to several audio books Zachary has done or been part of, now. I always enjoy his portrayal of the characters. He brings them to life and he also gives a little extra. . . something to each character he reads. It's come to where. I'd be likely to purchase books based in his narration, where I may not if it were someone else. He's that good. In My humble opinion.

Sweet

I enjoyed the first two in this series so much. This one was good, but just didn't have the intensity I expected after the first two.

So Sweet!

Tammara Webber is an auto buy author for me. So far I have really liked everything she has written. Sweet is an extension of Easy and Breakable, it's the story of Boyce, Lucas's best friend. Boyce has lived a pretty rough life, and it's nice to see some good things finally go his way. If books had ratings like movies, this book would be rated R for strong language and sex.

Good story but slow!

Zach’s cocky monotone is perfect to portray the guy but the girl have difficulty doing other voicer and her twang is a bit ridiculous. The story itself is slow but captivating at same time so many characters that were introduced and so much back and fort between past and present but the story is not just typicall boy meets girl.

Tried too hard

One of the reviews said that they liked Christy Romano’s performance better than Zachary Webber’s performance. Personally, I thought Zachary did a better southern accent, he put more emotion into his speaking part and he could actually keep track of where he was when reading. While she has a soothing voice to listen to, Christy Romano sounded like what every northerner thinks a southern accent sounds like and it wasn’t consistent. She also lost her place a couple times (read the same paragraph twice) and mispronounced several words. All of that is understandable, everyone makes mistakes, but I thought these things were supposed to have a director and a producer? Couldn’t they have caught that and fixed it?

Other than that I liked the book. The story line was out of the ordinary so it kept me guessing, which was fun. It was also interesting to see characters from Lucas’s past brought to life. But Lucas and Jaqueline will always be my favorite couple from this series.

So sweet!

Third book in the series and just as good as the previous two. I love Boyce and Pearl's story and the narrators are excellent.
