The perfect solution!

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before. I have an aquaponics set up where the fish create fertilizer that as it goes through the nitrogen cycle the water is pumped through clay stones in which my vegetables grow. The only issue was come summer a lot of the water would evaporate and it's costly to fill up. Now it fills up on it's own directly connected to the guttering with an overflow and the water can be used for all sorts of other things. This is a simple but fantastic book with lots of info and good ideas!

Very Comprehensive

The author covers everything in detail that one needs to know to start collecting rainwater. He included information that I did not realize you would need to know like how to calculate how much water a family will need to collect as well as ideas how to use the water once collected.

Crucial Lesson in Self Sufficiency

Bought this for a friend who is homesteading abroad, and has been wanting to live completely self sufficiently, off grid. As his property didn't have a natural water source, I recommended rainwater harvesting, he seemed interested, so I bought this as a housewarming gift. After listening, he's employed much of the guides and recommendations for his own rain catchment system, and is super grateful for his gift!

Adapt ur lifestyle to be environmentally friendly

To save the environment and money on water expenditures, use the principles in this book to build a rainwater collection system. The chapter on rainwater purification is one of my favorites. I know that boiling won't kill all of the germs, so we'll have to use a carbon filter to filter it. Finally, the chapter about maintenance is a great relief because I dont like the high maintenance system. If you're thinking about RWH as a viable option for your home, I recommend reading this book before making a choice. If he could reorganize the topic in a more coherent way, it would be fantastic.
