Please don’t let Hollywood confuse facts

I enjoyed the book but during the hunting chapter Raney tries to sidle up to non hunters by disparaging “trophy hunters”, a loaded description. I hunt for meat but he knows that all hunters are responsible for our right to hunt and most of habitat and wildlife conservation. Stay true…TV watchers are not allies. They come and go.

Great story read by a great character. Although it seems mostly an echo of the series, It's valid and thought through material.

Fantastic Story written and read by an amazing Man

I really enjoyed this book and the narration. It has a lot of very useful information for someone who is just thinking about getting into homesteading, as well as people that may have already been living this lifestyle. I admire Marty Raney and I thank him for taking the time to put this together.

Excellent book - much better than anticipated

Marty shares his wins, trials, and challenges from living a homesteader's life.
When time permits, I plan to watch his video series too.

Best book I’ve ever listened to on Audible

Amazing information and super relaxing to listen to. Marty Raney is the real deal, his wisdom and knowledge can help everyone. He is a huge mentor to me and I hope he reaches the rest of the younger generation of men and women. Highly Recommend!

Excellent Information

Loved it! Goes more in depth than the show. Definitely inspiring. Looking to make some changes, but probably won't be fully off grid.

Get a great start for living off grid.

I loved this book read by the author. Its Easy to follow and well written. If you have seen any of the Homestead Rescue shows you will be familiar with the characters in the book which is always great but if you haven't you will want to by the time you are done with the book.
Even if you don't intend to live off grid you will learn something. The author gives his opinion of equipment, tools, etc and shares real information you can use. He paints a realistic picture of what homesteading entails not just one edited for television.
I recommend this to anyone. Easy to listen to and if you are paying attention at all you will learn something .

I didn't want this book to end!

So much good information and extremely motivating! And Marty Raney was very entertaining as usual with all of his puns and heartwarming stories. I learned new things, I laughed and even cried. Get this book. You won't regret it.

Best of all Off Grid books!

Surprised at how good this book was! A Must Read if you love learning about how to handle yourself off grid or how to create your own homestead. Loved it.

Another step towards homesteading

This book is exactly what you would expect from Marty. If you have watched Homestead Rescue then you know what you're getting into. Just like the heart inlaid in the floor of Marty's cabin, there are personal touches that make his reading of this book incredible to listen to. It is an engaging take on homesteading by someone who is undeniably successful at it, and very informative for anyone interested in the lifestyle. This will not be the last time I listen to this fatherly voice giving advice on just how to make your self sustainability and homesteading dreams come true. It is well worth a listen. Thanks Marty! Somehow your voice just comforts me.
