Sweet & Delicious

Right from the beginning things between our main characters are tangled and awkward. It drew me in immediately. Zoe and Aiden have basically known each other forever. Because of that, the romance between them moves very quickly. In my opinion, it was a bit too fast. And the way Aiden pushes her into the relationship was pretty uncool. They never took the time to define the relationship together.

The story was still sweet and fun. And I found it interesting that after the black moment, the person our protagonist turns to isn’t super supportive. That was a twist, but it still helped clear things up.

Loved story & narration

I loved this small town romance story written by author Erin Nicholas. She did a great job as always with her storytelling and I love the characters she develops. I really enjoyed Aiden and Zoey and their history together. I loved the witty dialogue, humor and their sexy times that include food. I loved Aiden’s dirty talk, Zoey’s sassiness and the friendships throughout this book. Narrators Jason Clarke and Lili Valente did a wonderful job with their performances and brought the characters and story to life.

Awesome start to a new series!

I adore Erin Nicholas books. When I found out she was publishing a new series I was so excited! Aiden and Zoe were absolute perfection! The narrators really made this story come to life! I can't wait for more of the Hot Cakes crew!!!

Funny, Heartfelt & Swoon Worthy

I loved this book and I thought it was the perfect way to start this new series. This brother's best friend romance had no trouble at all in capturing and holding my attention. Aiden and Zoe were wonderful characters and quickly have you fully invested in them, their relationship, their friends and family and their quirky little town. I found myself really feeling for these two as their impulsive decisions, misunderstandings, embarrassments and hurt feelings cause plenty of complications for them on the road to a HEA. The well crafted combination of heartfelt emotions, small town charm, steamy heat, tension, laugh out loud humor and drama will have you totally falling in love with this book/series and craving much more of it.

A tad predictable but still a fantastic story!

I love the bits of comedy thrown in when not expected! The story was great, a bit too slow of a burn than I typically go for, but Erin Nicholas still hits you with the super sexy stuff at random times to spice it up.
Jason Clarke and Lili Vanlente: freaking TOP NOTCH.

The only downside is that the conflict/climax of the story is a bit predictable once you hit the 3rd chapter. Also, this may just be me, but the family of the heroine makes me wanna pound on them a little bit. If you buy this book or listen, you’ll understand. Lol. Those are the only reasons why this isn’t a fiver!

Funny and awesome

This book is funny and interesting right from the get-go. I love the premise. And the cocky hero with a strong heroine with this undeniable attraction is awesome.

This book is in third person, but don't let that deter you if you, like me, don't love third person. It flows wonderfully and makes the audio a little bit easier to follow.

The narration is top-notch. I always love Lili and Jason.

If you like small-town romantic comedy, Lili Valente, Delancey Stewart, Lucy Score - this book is for you!

Wow!

This book was great! I couldn’t stop listening till it was done! I am so happy it will be a series and can’t wait for the rest!

Fun friends to lovers

Book 1 in the Hot Cakes series by Erin Nicholas and I loved it. Great brother’s best friends to lovers Loved the dynamic between Aiden and Zoe. They had great chemistry between them. Lili and Jason really brought them to life and made the story very enjoyable and a real pleasure to listen to. Loved this story so much.

Friends to lovers

What a sweet friends to lovers story. Zoe has known Aiden most of her life, he is practically family as he is her brothers best friend and he was always around. When she decides it is time to give up her V card she wants Aiden to be the one to teach her some things. Problem is he turned her down. Aiden has feelings for Zoe and he isn't going to deflower her until he can get his life in order and come home and let her know how he feels. Problem is he has a secret that could destroy not only their future but their friendship as well.

This book has great supporting characters and a good story line. I enjoyed it.

Jason Clarke and Lili Valente were great narrating this book. They were spot on for Aiden and Zoe and enjoyable to listen to.

Fun and flirty romance

I can already tell that I’m going to love this series. Sugarcoated was a fun, brother’s best friend, second-chance romance with two adorable characters. Zoe had propositioned her brother’s best friend to take her virginity and he turned her down. When he returns to town, he’s determined to rectify his mistake and claim Zoe as his own, but there are a few obstacles in the way, including Zoe.

Zoe is a strong, independent woman running her family’s bakery. She’s determined to make her bakery a success but she’s resistant to change. With Aiden’s help, she begins to get the courage to make some changes, but when she finds out that he now owns her competition, will she be able to forgive him?

Aiden is a hot, successful businessman who has rearranged his life so he can come back to town and sweep Zoe off his feet. He is a little dense at times, but that just makes him more loveable. He’s totally swoonworthy.

Jason Clarke and Lili Valente were fantastic with the narration as always. Both of them really convey the characters for me and I always know I will enjoy any audiobook of theirs. They both embody the characters perfectly.

These two were hot together and it was a fun journey watching them figure things out. Their quirky friends just added to my enjoyment and I can’t wait for them to find their happy endings. Sugarcoated was a great beginning to a new series and I’m looking forward to spending more time in this small town!
