Sweet & Delicious

Right from the beginning things between our main characters are tangled and awkward. It drew me in immediately. Zoe and Aiden have basically known each other forever. Because of that, the romance between them moves very quickly. In my opinion, it was a bit too fast. And the way Aiden pushes her into the relationship was pretty uncool. They never took the time to define the relationship together.

The story was still sweet and fun. And I found it interesting that after the black moment, the person our protagonist turns to isn’t super supportive. That was a twist, but it still helped clear things up.

Loved story & narration

I loved this small town romance story written by author Erin Nicholas. She did a great job as always with her storytelling and I love the characters she develops. I really enjoyed Aiden and Zoey and their history together. I loved the witty dialogue, humor and their sexy times that include food. I loved Aiden’s dirty talk, Zoey’s sassiness and the friendships throughout this book. Narrators Jason Clarke and Lili Valente did a wonderful job with their performances and brought the characters and story to life.

Awesome start to a new series!

I adore Erin Nicholas books. When I found out she was publishing a new series I was so excited! Aiden and Zoe were absolute perfection! The narrators really made this story come to life! I can't wait for more of the Hot Cakes crew!!!

Funny, Heartfelt & Swoon Worthy

I loved this book and I thought it was the perfect way to start this new series. This brother's best friend romance had no trouble at all in capturing and holding my attention. Aiden and Zoe were wonderful characters and quickly have you fully invested in them, their relationship, their friends and family and their quirky little town. I found myself really feeling for these two as their impulsive decisions, misunderstandings, embarrassments and hurt feelings cause plenty of complications for them on the road to a HEA. The well crafted combination of heartfelt emotions, small town charm, steamy heat, tension, laugh out loud humor and drama will have you totally falling in love with this book/series and craving much more of it.

A tad predictable but still a fantastic story!

I love the bits of comedy thrown in when not expected! The story was great, a bit too slow of a burn than I typically go for, but Erin Nicholas still hits you with the super sexy stuff at random times to spice it up.
Jason Clarke and Lili Vanlente: freaking TOP NOTCH.

The only downside is that the conflict/climax of the story is a bit predictable once you hit the 3rd chapter. Also, this may just be me, but the family of the heroine makes me wanna pound on them a little bit. If you buy this book or listen, you’ll understand. Lol. Those are the only reasons why this isn’t a fiver!
