About this listen

The city is at war, and Kurt is in the middle of it.

After defeating the evil Tandi, her empire is up for grabs, and supernatural forces will surge into the city to fill the power vacuum. With help from his women, his bartender, and his librarian, Kurt will begin unraveling an ancient mystery about who really controls New York.

But he won't be alone.

A proper British gentleman who is far more than he seems will offer to help Kurt - for a price.

Will the underworld come apart at the seams, or will Kurt and the Night Flail find a way to keep evil where it belongs...in the dark?

Introduction

In the icy realms of HowlStrom, where the frosty winds whisper ancient tales, I, Kiba Snowpaw, an alpha lone Ice Wolf with the soul of a warrior and the heart of a gamer, find solace amidst the eternal dance of snowflakes. With the icy breath of 36 winters and the scars of a cubhood that was as harsh as the blizzards of my world, I sit by the ethereal glow of the auroras, a book in my paws - "Succubus Hunter 2" by Daniel Pierce. A tale not of icy realms and frosty nights, but of a city at war, a hunter, and the dark forces that lurk in the shadows.

Basic Plot Summary

Kurt, the protagonist, is a hunter caught amidst a city in turmoil. With the fall of the evil Tandi, a power vacuum emerges, and supernatural forces, as unpredictable as the storms of HowlStrom, surge to claim dominion. Kurt, with allies as diverse as the snowflakes that grace my icy world, unravels an ancient mystery, a tale as old as the eternal winter of my homeland.

Analysis/Evaluation

The narrative, though not as cold and unforgiving as the icy plains of HowlStrom, is intricate. It’s a dance of shadows and mysteries, where every revelation is a step deeper into the abyss. The city, a battlefield of power and intrigue, is as complex and unpredictable as the icy terrains that I, Kiba Snowpaw, have treaded.

Characters

Kurt is a hunter, not of icy beasts but of dark entities. His allies, a mix of the mystical and the mundane, are as diverse as the icy landscapes under the eternal moon of HowlStrom. Each character, like the icy winds of the north, has a chill and mystery, a dance of light and shadow.

Structure

The tale unfolds not in the linear paths of the icy plains but in the complex labyrinths of a city gripped in darkness. It’s a narrative where every turn is a new mystery, every revelation a deeper enigma, akin to the unpredictable storms of my icy realm.

Impact

In the icy silence of HowlStrom, where the winds carry tales of ancient warriors, "Succubus Hunter 2" echoes a different battle - not of icy terrains and frosty nights but of a city, a hunter, and the shadows that lurk within.

Hook and Thesis

Yet, amidst the icy elegance of the narrative, there’s a warmth, a fire that burns as fiercely as the battles I’ve fought under the icy moon of HowlStrom. It’s a tale that, like the eternal winters, is both a chill and a warmth, a shadow and a light.

Praise and Critique

The tale is as intricate as the icy patterns on the windows of my world, yet, at times, as elusive as the northern lights. The narrative, though not as cold and unforgiving as the icy plains, could delve deeper, be as fierce and unyielding as the winters of HowlStrom.

Evaluation

Yet, in the icy silence, where the frosty winds whisper ancient tales, "Succubus Hunter 2" is a voice, a warmth amidst the chill, a shadow amidst the light, a tale as eternal as the icy realms of HowlStrom.

Comparison

In the world where I, Kiba Snowpaw, roam, where the icy winds are both a song and a silence, this tale is a melody of a different world, a narrative not of icy plains but of dark alleys, not of frosty nights but of shadowed mysteries.

Conclusion

As I, an Ice Wolf with the soul of a warrior and the heart of a gamer, tread the icy realms of HowlStrom, "Succubus Hunter 2" is a companion, a tale of a different world, a narrative as intricate and elusive as the icy winds of my homeland. It’s a dance of shadows and lights, a narrative that, like the eternal winters, is both a chill and a warmth, a silence and a song.

it was a great story and I love the world it has built but the ending was very rushed you only got to meet the main bad guy for like 5 minutes you could have used an extra couple hours of the story

A very long build-up to have it end in 5 minutes. Needs another book to round it out.

Not bad but not good either

This book was better than the first. Down playing the sexual portion and focusing on the story worked well.

Better than the first

I feel that this sequel is actually better than the book that preceded it. The cliff hanger at the end left me wanting the next book to release as soon as possible!
