Enjoyable cozy!

Kacey is at it again with her boys at Booker Brothers. Kacey and the guys are hired to investigate a possible insurance scam when a young waitress is hurt at work and incapacitated. As Kacey and the boys stake out her place they become intrigued by her roommate, a goth waitress by the name of Busty. As the mystery unfolds Kacey thinks there may be more than meets the eye on this case. As always Kacey steps in it and puts herself in harms way. I enjoy this series and am interested to discover which off limits brother she ends up with. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Yes, Please

This is one of my new favorite cozy mystery series... It reminds me of the Stephanie Plum Series in writing style but is MUCH cleaner- so I absolutely love them. I read the first book and was hooked and this one does a great job continuing the story with a new mystery that keeps you completely engaged in the story with twists and turns and an ending that you don't see coming. The narration was well done and a real joy to listen to. My only complaint is that this book really didn't bring me any closer to figuring out which of the hot Booker Brothers she ends up with.

SHE PUTS THE COZY IN COZY MYSTERY

STUNT DOUBLE TROUBLE is the second book in the Booker Brothers Detective Agency series. Though each will stand on their own, it is best to read them all and in the order of release.

Maisie Dean puts the Cozy in Cozy Mysteries. I highly recommend this cozy, easy-listening, detective agency series that includes a bit of romance, though we still don’t know who will win the fair hand of our lovely Kacey. All three of the handsome Booker brothers are worth their weight in gold and any of them would be a fine match for her. I have placed my bet; listen and make your prediction.

In STUNT DOUBLE TROUBLE, the mystery is as tightly woven as it should be, with a great ending twist. The familiar characters are becoming even more developed and the characters for the current story are wonderfully unique and quirky. This was highly entertaining for such a relatively short read.

Narration: The narrator is Marie Hoffman and she is one of my favorites. Once again, she has nailed her part in bringing a book to life – entertaining with clear articulation, enunciation, and pronunciation. What more could you ask? Her voice is beautiful. I look forward to listening to her bring us Kacey and the boys again in READY ON SET DRAMA.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I loved it!

Maise Dean has created a great series with the Booker Brothers. She has developed endearing characters that make me smile. I found this storyline to be original and fast paced. Marie Hoffman was great voicing the characters. She added the right emotions. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will most definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Looks can be deceiving.

This is another fun Booker Brothers Mystery but gets me no closer to learning who Kacey actually marries eventually. I have my suspicions, but I guess I'll just have to keep reading to learn the answer.

In this book, an insurance investigations turns almost deadly because of jealousy. Multiple personalities contribute to the story and Kacey makes connections the brothers missed to help solve this case.

Kacey and her Booker Boys strike again............

In Stunt Double Trouble, Kacey teams up with her fellow detectives at the Booker Detective Agency to solve another mystery. Although I might not be the best judge since I read the first book, I believe this book could be enjoyed as a standalone. Kacey is a former actress in Hollywood whose new profession is working as a junior detective with the three Booker brothers at their detective agency. With several successfully solved cases under her belt, Kacey is becoming more comfortable in her new role. However, she is still navigating her place between the Booker brothers, all of whom might or might not have romantic inclinations towards her. Each of the brothers has a unique and completely opposite personality, and I enjoyed watching Kacey further deepen and cement her relationship with each and with the group as a whole.

In addition to terrific interactions between Kacey and the Booker Brothers, the author creates an intriguing mystery that kept me guessing - unsuccessfully I might add - until the very end of the book. An insurance company hires the Booker Detective Agency to investigate a potential case of fraud, and through stakeouts of and research into the claimant, the detective quartet quickly realize something isn't right with the case. However, even they end up being surprised at just how right they are about the underlying wrongness of the scenario. If you enjoy a fairly lighthearted cozy mystery with plenty of perplexing clues, little to no personal drama, and lots of good fun, Stunt Double Trouble is the perfect use of a credit.

Marie Hoffman narrates both books in the series, so that continuity is very pleasing. With her flawless performance and excellent skill in using tone and pacing to set the mood of the scene, Hoffman is an ideal choice for this fast moving series. Although she doesn't differentiate overly between characters, her delivery is so smooth that I found myself completely lost in the story.

Double your fun

Stunt Double Trouble is the second book I have listened to in this series. This adventure takes; our actress turned amateur Private Detective, Kacey on a case investigating an insurance claim that may be fraudulent. Once again the quirky Booker brothers and their grandmother kept me entertained with their mishaps and escapades. The plot was fun and the narration was good. I look forward to the next one in the series.
