Another great mystery for Kacey and the brothers

The Booker Brothers series are always a fun way to spend a few hours. The brothers and Kacey of course get in so crazy situations but always solve the case somehow. I suggest listening in order for a good flow. I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Love it

I love the Booker brother series. This book was no exception. The characters are lovable and hilarious. Owen seems to shine a little more in this book. This book kept me entertained and laughing. I can't wait till the next book. I recd this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Marie Hoffman does an excellent job with each voice.

An interesting background check for a case.

I enjoyed listening to this book, the latest installment of the Booker Brothers Detective Agency series. The case had unexpected twists and highlights challenges of mental decline. It wasn't clear how Kacey got out of the village, just how she got out of the compound.

I look forward to the next installment and think I might be closer to figuring out which of the brothers she ends up being married to, hopefully with Tippy's blessing.

Another amazing story

I simply love this series and Kacey. She is such a great character! So funny and always getting herself on the worst kind of situations. Potatoes' box, anyone? *laughs*

The plot is truly original, and the resolution was surprising and strangely uplifting. And seeing Kacey interact with Owen during the party? That was simply fantastic. I keep changing which brother I want for her, but right now? Oh, yes! It's Owen :P

Another fantastic story, a quick 'read' that will leave you with a big smile on your face and asking for more.

Fantastic Mystery & RomCom! Can't wait for Book 5!

I really love this series, the writing style reminds me a bit of Stephanie Plum books but much cleaner! This one was a really interesting background check that had its own twist. As well as Kacey goes out with one of the Booker brothers finally and then there's more build up with the other brothers as well.... still trying to figure out who she ends up with. I love that these books have a fun mix of mystery, comedy, and flirtation, This was a ton of fun to listen to and the whole series is one that I will relisten to. The narrator does a great job with the acting and voices and I hope they keep her for the entire series. I am really looking forward to book 5, just hoping I don't have to wait too long for it.

Another winning installment in this fun series....

Background Checks and Balances is the fourth book in this delightfully fun cozy mystery series. Although this book features all the same main characters and the usual oddball extras, I thought this one had more depth than the others. We get to see the youngest brother in the detective agency, the brilliant but shy computer nerd, finally open up and have a more starring role in an investigation. For series fans, we even get to find out why Lucky always wears Hawaiian shirts. The investigation for Kacey and the three Booker Brother detectives involves the very serious and current subject of memory care for the aging. The author handles this heavy subject with the perfect touch of care and respect, but also makes sure that our detectives get up to plenty of escapades to keep the story light. The author continues to dangle the possibility of a romantic entanglement with Kacey and one of the Booker Brothers, but I still can't decide which brother that should be. All in all, I rate this book and all of the books in the series as a great option for cozy mystery fans.

Marie Hoffman narrates all the books in the series, and she does an amazing job for Kacey and all of the characters. She has a very light, almost lilting voice, so she matches Kacey's bubbly personality to a tee. Hoffman's delivery is flawless, and she adds just the right tone for both the serious and the funny parts of the book.

More shenanigans with the guys.

Kacey and the boys are at it again. This time they are hired to do a background check on a television producer before he is hired on for a big project. Sometimes you gotta check for those skeletons first. Kacey goes undercover to dig up dirt should there be any to dig up. She and Owen get all glammed up and hit the gala to brush elbows with the rich famous and possibly criminal. Sparks fly as always with the Bookers and I am still trying to figure out which boy she ends up with. The crew discovers a secret estate with top notch security. What can he be hiding in there? Leave it to Kacey to sneak in and get stuck. Another great mystery solved! I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Kacey came to Hollywood to become an actress but after a few dismal years she takes a temporary job with a detective agency run by 3 very handsome brothers. A new case has come and they are in the process of checking the background of a prominent director As they dive into the case things come out that takes them further into the case they thought would be a typical background check. Now Kacey's acting skills are put to the test as they drive deeper and deeper. To found out the seriousness there's the relationship between the brothers and their grandmother

ENTERTAINING & ENDEARING

BACKGROUND CHECKS AND BALANCES is the fourth book in the Booker Brothers Detective Agency series. Though each will stand on their own, it is best to read them all and in the order of release

A perfect addition to the Booker Agency series. This one is quick and easy. It is uplifting in a world that seems to always reach for the seediest. Instead, it made my heart happy and left me with a smile.

This was entertaining and endearing.

Narration: Marie Hoffman nails it once again.
