A fun and easy to follow mystery.
Narrator is pleasing to listen to.

Excellent

I find that Suzanne Toren is an excellent nararrator and Joanne Fluke's books are excellently written, exciting and holds suspense. I have even reproduced some of her recipes which are better than anything I've bought from a bakery!

Easy Listening

I love Joann Flukes books. Hannah is a hoot and she sure keeps the book moving. Just purchased the newest book Cream Puff Murder. Haven't finished it yet.

Not for me

I tried to give this book multiple chances. I finally gave up. It is so slow paced and I was bored. There wasn't anything that made me want to stay with the story. I didn't get attached to the characters or have any interest in seeing how things turn out. The narrator was so-so. She wasn't bad but I didn't really care for her voices. She does seem to have a good range. This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author. Not sure if I will try another. This is actually book two in the series. I bought books one and two in a sale but accidentally started with this one instead of the first. I doubt I will ever go back to listen to book one. I don't think that it will make it better since my issues were primarily with the pacing and the fact that I didn't like the main character. Oh and I pretty much hated having to listen to the random extended recipes included throughout. I had to skip ahead to get back to the actual book.

I won't order these again

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I'm sure this series is very popular but I find them more simplistic that I prefer

What could Joanne Fluke have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The plot is pretty good, but the presentation is a bit trite and transparent

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Suzanne Toren?

Her voice was not as flexible as I would have liked to make the character sound more realistic

Not the quite the same as the Hallmark Channel...

I love the fact the novel is not the same as the Hallmark Channel series. The book gives the main and supporting characters depth. Now I can picture the heroine and her sister having an relationship and working together to "snoop."

Murder in Eden . . . Lake Eden

Book two in the Hannah Swensen series is sumptuous, just like the first . . . for the baking, but also for the tales of family and friendship in the little town of Lake Eden, Minnesota. Hannah successfully enlists her sister, Andrea in the search for the killer this time, even though Andrea’s husband is a police detective! I love the story of Norman, the dentist, whom Hannah’s mother keeps trying to fix her up with. He’s multi-talented, that’s for sure, operating a darkroom at his house (actually his MOTHER’S house) which becomes instrumental in solving the murder. As usual, things aren’t quite as they appear to be, and I didn’t figure out who the murderer was until Hannah almost got killed! Excellent installment on a very addicting series!
