I've been smoking for 40 years. Yes, I had managed to quit a few times over the course of that time, and one time even quit for a year, but I had not attempted quitting in the past 20 years or so. I thought it was going to be a horrible experience when I tried, but after listening to this book and learning to look at quitting from a totally different perspective, I found it amazingly easy to quit. I finished this book on Nov 15th, it's now Dec 10th and I am still smoke free. I did listen to the book a couple times to really let it all sink in well. I also listened to some binaural beats and subliminal messages for quitting smoking on youtube every night for the first week or so. I feel better and better each day, and I'm so glad I found this book!

Convinced after 10 years of trying to quit
I read this book 10 years ago and "It didn't work". Actually, I didn't work the book is what really happened. I tried a bunch of cessation programs, some on audible but this one is still the best. There is one audible book called "Quit" which actually derailed me once, supporting a slow-down or cut-down method which is a waste of time. This author is essentially giving you the tools for a cold-turkey nicotine addiction shut-down, which is the only way to go. He basically gives you the self talk needed to beat the addiction itch that perpetuates the addiction itself. Easy... Well it's easy in that you don't torture yourself with cutting down and nicotine replacement therapy, which don't work. Anyone that has quit using these things ends up (in the end) going cold-turkey. There is no cut-down on nicotine addiction. You're either addicted or you're not. This book much more eloquently and completely goes through this and other reasons we smoke and shuts it down. I think it's worth it to listen to it three times before you go to chapter 21. It all sounds like common sense but after the third time is when you really "get it". It's hard to explain. Good luck. Give this book a good read before dismissing it. I'm smoke-free 6 months on a 25 year addiction at about a pack a day

Somewhat of a letdown
some of what the author says is very true but others are just desperate attempts to convince the impressionable. if it helps you then great. the author repeats that smoking is filthy and disgusting too much. I found myself rolling my eyes often. much of the book consists of the author saying that it works and all the reader can think is...just get on with it.

It was just that easy
I listened to the program as I was going about my normal daily activities. I neared the end of the book and lit my last cigarette as instructed. I literally threw my cigarettes out the window driving down hwy 49. I did not feel anxious or worried, I felt relieved, I felt free! I am a non smoker!

It really is easy !
I smoked for over thirty years quit many times but always longed for another drag, one last inhale, which would lead to me buying a pack and starting all over again; wishing that I hadn’t because I knew I would be trying to again. However, the Allen Carr’s method is amazing upon finishing the audible book I have not smoked since, I have not longed for, nor have I thought about smoking , I am certain I will never smoke again! I quit on Jan 1st and it was easy, no craving or mood swings, I just stopped smoking, don’t even think about it or miss it, which I find miraculous! I purchased the Allen Carr’s easy weigh to lose weight right after I quit smoking , love the book and maybe it was a distraction that helped me focus on something positive other than wanting to inhale? Highly recommend Allen Carr’s method!!!

If you could sum up Stop Smoking and Quit E-Cigarettes in three words, what would they be?
A total retrain of the brain and how to perceive smoking. I want to tell the world that the easy way works. There is no gimmicks or empty promises. By the time you are asked to smoke the final cigarette, you will be itching to get it over. The most important instructions for me were that you become a non smoker the moment you quit, feel pity for other smokers and do not fear or put off quitting

There is no easy way!!
do not believe the synopsis. you will have cravings, you will have mood swings. you will struggle to stop . I felt mislead, ultimately I did give up, and the book convinced me to take the plunge, but all this rubbish about not getting any of the bad feelings associated with nicotine withdrawal (which is a drug remember) is complete nonsense and essentially a selling tactic born from a false truth. there is no easy way!!

It works!!
I listened to some parts of the book twice, and as much as I was apprehensive to quit, the logic behind the information presented, was unlike any I had encountered before! If you are bored of trying the same old methods and failing, this is definitely worth a try....I have not been a smoker for five months now, since finishing this book! And I have no intentions of ever smoking again. I don't even miss it, good luck with your journey!!

Insightful book, a requirement for any quitter!
I reeeeally enjoyed this book. Allen does an amazing job of showing all the different aspects of quitting smoking and why its always best to stay strong and keep going forward. I am 2 weeks into quitting smoking and this book has definitely helped me change my perspective on how I'm dealing with things. Simply brilliant
absolutely brilliant. I needed something more than just a book to read... i had stopped for 7 years thanks to Allen Carr, but had slipped back into the nicotine trap by a mixture of stress and associations with other smokers in my social circle. I struggle with concentration when reading, so i felt that the audible version would be better for me.. to allow the message and the instructions and reasoning to sink in... It worked!!! it was like having a one-to-one private therapy session.. clearly narrated and marvellous in its delivery.. very calming and sincere voice to listen to. Allow yourself 3hrs to get relaxed in a quiet place and just listen.. allow yourself to be submerged into the information.. I am now cured. 100% confirmed non-smoker for life... you can be too!

... and try the feeling of being perfectly complete, that & as you truly are...
Best chapter of the book: As Allen Carr describes his usual daily experience & perception by leading his life (as a smoker), its negative impacts, symptoms & imposed limitations, that I experience as well & always have seen as normal & granted, it never occurred to me, like to him as well, that these are simply effects of a permanent & a life sentence of heavy smoking.
So simply change it & start to live without a dark shadow haunting your sense of self.

great book
the book is overall really good, however my last 3 attempts I have failed around the 4-8 wk mark by only having 1 cigarette, The first 4 weeks was easy. This time I plan to stop smoking for good and know that it's never just 1.

Worked for me!
33 years of smoking cigs & after the completion of listening to the book I had a few scotches that arvo with the remaining packet I had left (15) & made it my farewell session for ciggarettes. Next morning there was 2 left on purpose & as per usual as I had my coffee & I then said good bye to that last cigarette! Truly thankful for Allen's book & hopefully you will be too. Yee har I'm free....

I found this book so interesting and true and as I had given up for nearly 3 years and just started smoking the last 2 months found it quite easy to give up after reading this. More so, I have given it to my husband to read as he has trouble when trying to quit. So hears hoping
