Great story

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely wasn't the book that I expected it to be with the first chapter. It was so much better. I really cared about the characters and cared about their successes and struggles. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Fun Fantasy Adventure

Milner's book, with its great cover art, is the first in a planned trilogy. It is a delightful fantasy adventure for young adults with themes of family, romance, loyalty, and self-discovery. The story's focus on relationships and character development is interspersed with fighting action and curious glimpses into the internalized magical mechanisms of the Stonebearer's speculative world. While the story focuses on Katira's journey, I particularly enjoyed the romance between her adoptive parents as they fought to get their daughter back, and as they sacrificed to edify and protect each other.

Great story!

I was entertained throughout this whole book. Good descriptive scenes kept me in the story. I especially enjoyed the real emotions and humanization of the characters in the infirmary.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. It kept me excitedly water for what would happen next. I really enjoyed the story and the naration. I would reccomend this to people whoenjoyfantasy and a well crafted story.

The author has a good sense of pace and drama, the characters were enjoyable if occasionally prone to making illogical decisions. The world building and lore were well developed and fascinating there really wasn't a lot to dislike about this book. Will get the next one for sure/

Solid story

Creative magical fantasy. Kept my interest throughout with a steady pace. Enjoyed the characters. Definitely could be a hit with the YA crowd. The narrator did a good job.

I didn't love this...but then...

I really was not feeling this book for the first few chapters of this book. I couldn't exactly put my finger on why but for some reason I couldn't get into it. But I am so happy I decided to keep listening because it turned out to be a really good story. And I would love to read more of this trilogy! The narration was great also!! I highly recommend this!
