A good strategy of war story combined with good characters you like and a great narrator.

Very entertaining book

Good book if you like black company you will like this. This narrator is awesome he could read a menu and make it entertaining.

Worthy tale

Stiger’s Tiger’s moves at a steady pace never giving you a chance to get distracted from the tale and the action. If you are traveling, or need something to listen to while doing housework, cooking, yard work or wood working, this story will keep your mind occupied and is worth the credit. I enjoyed finding the Roman Legions in a new world as refreshing, but I found the world building to be a little lacking. The characters needed a bit more flesh to them. I have read some reviews invoking the spirit of Bernard Cornwell’s Utred and Sharpe’s series. Yet, you don’t come away from this knowing Stiger or his elf companion as you do with Sharpe and Harper or Utred and Finnegan. Some of the hanging details that keep this story from excelling are simple things, such as, Stiger’s company name themselves Stiger’s Tigers at the end of the book. Yet since this is a new world where did the Tiger pelt come from. While this book is not one that you will wish to replay to absorb the details, the story is good, the narrator is absolutely excellent and the book is worth the listen.

So far I have been very impressed, great author and great narration. looking forward to the next book.

My second time through the series

My second time through the series and still loving it. This book jumps down the centuries and down Stigers family tree from Camp Prefect Karus and friends. It moves the story along with many quality novels to go, but this marks the beginning of the end. Gritty, logical, amusing, a little brain twisting, and overall very entertaining - kw

Start of an Epic!

I love historical fiction that is well researched. I love ancient Rome and I love fantasy. This book starts a series that combines all of these! The rich world is well described and the characters are deep. They have tendencies and flaws like real individuals and their decisions have an impact on the world around them. The narrator does a great job of keeping the listener engaged. I highly recommend this book and series!

Love the Stiger series! This is the second book I have read of this series. The great description and fine attention to detail makes you feel like you're actually there. I can't recommend these books enough! Keep up the good work Marc!

The story is awesome and the characters are likable and you want them to survive and to keep listening all day

I liked the book through out but not the beginning were he spared the Assassin without any serious punishment and somehow made People trust him it seemed a bit to fake.
