Inheriting your uncle's supervillain business is more complicated than you might think. Particularly when you discover who's running the place.

Charlie's life is going nowhere fast. A divorced substitute teacher living with his cat in a house his siblings want to sell, all he wants is to open a pub downtown, if only the bank will approve his loan.

Then his long-lost uncle Jake dies and leaves his supervillain business (complete with island volcano lair) to Charlie.

It's up to Charlie to win the war his uncle started against a league of supervillains. But with unionized dolphins, hyperintelligent talking spy cats, and a terrifying henchperson at his side, going bad is starting to look pretty good.

Fun Story

Completely different from Old Man's War. Amusing story and moves quick. A good diversion from the doom and gloom of current events and other dystopian type of stories. I didn't want to stop listening. Kinda wish there was a sequel. As usual Wheaton does a great narration.

A fun story

The ending was good. At the last hour mark I was half expecting a second book that I would have really enjoyed. Alas, this is a complete book; excellent in it's own right.
Will does a good job narrating.

Good break from swamp of SF war stories

Vulgar dolphins and typing cats! >^..^<

Listened in one sitting and absolutely loved it! Seems like it wrapped itself up, but I would have loved a sequel.

A fun and cute story. loved the dolphins.

I enjoyed the story a lot. it is entertaining and mostly fast paced, the MC is likeable. because I'm a person of a very refined taste, I loved dolphins the most though! WW is a great narrator. overall, no regrets.

Enjoyable story, wrong narrator

Oof, Wil. He just ain’t the right fit for this book. It’s a cute book with lots of fluff, and Wil Wheaton’s narrative style makes the protagonist seem like an absolute jerk.
But if you’re willing to slog through a poor narration, the book has SMARTCATS and all of them LIVE and honestly? I needed that kinda fluff.

Cats, villains, and twisted payback!

I enjoyed this unusual break from my regularly chosen space operas. It was funny and who can resist the genius real estate buying cat? Will Wheaton seems perfect as the narrator, as he applies his special sarcastic brand of expression. Fun and recommended for a short read.

The Villainy of Billionaires

On the surface it’s a comedy about inheriting the family business and that business is villainy. Think SPECTRE from James Bond. Deeper down it’s a treatise on the absurdity of billionaires and the value of unions. Extremely enjoyable, hilarious, thought provoking read. Recommended!

Another incredibly fun read by John Scalzi!

Couldn’t stop listening to this one, and I audibly laughed out loud several times throughout. Clever as always and highly recommended!
