Publisher's Summary

Holden Russell let his job consume his life for too long, and it took his wife leaving for him to realize it’s time for a change. His marriage is over, but he’s determined to do right by his kids, starting with fewer hours at work and more with them. Except it’s no longer the kids competing with his job for his attention. It’s Holden competing for their attention…with their new live-in nanny. Their very hot male live-in nanny.

Porter Blake never saw himself becoming a nanny, but okay. After burnout and PTSD drove him from his job as a paramedic, he’s desperate for something new, and it turns out the nanny gig isn’t so bad. The pay is decent, the stress is manageable, the kids are great, and their mom is cool. It’s the ex-husband he’s not so sure about.

The situation is awkward enough when Porter and Holden are butting heads. When they find some common ground and their mutual attraction becomes too much to ignore, things are bound to get complicated.

And unless they want Porter to lose his job, they’re going to have to fly under the ex-wife’s radar. Except secrets like this have a way of coming out….

Too cute

liked the story line. good performance. once I got into Michael's voice I really like his characterizations. good voice changes without all the "he saids" that we usually get. Going halfway through story before any romance started was annoying, but resolved beautifully. Thanks

Sweet, adorable and hot

This book is somewhat of a slow burn, but so worth it. It has adorable kids, great parents, and heat. I haven’t encountered a lot of books like this one, so it was refreshing. I was slightly annoyed by Tiffany, but saw were she was coming from, and she did fix things in the end. I absolutely loved the ending.
Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job with this narration. His voice is easy to listen to and gave nice voices to all the characters.

Something was definitely missing.

This instalove story was definitely missing something. I believe it was the build up to the attraction. The Narrator seemed annoyed with the story himself with his very lazy tone. This was just all wrong. I think if Michael Dean was narrating I probably would have enjoyed it more. Don't waist your credit folks!

DNF

Well, there is a little less than three hours left and I just can’t go anymore. The story moved like molasses. I never attached to either of the MCs. It just wasn’t for me.

A mistake turns out great

Almost returned this book, but decided to try it. Narrators did well. Plot was predictable beginning 50% through book, but not all the details were obvious so it was a very enjoyable book. Angst was at minimum, a few interesting twists, and a fun ending

I couldn't get past chapter 6

Omg ! I usually love Lori's books and Michael is one of my fav narrators but I just couldn't push through . If I come back to the audiobook later after an attitude shift I'll change my review .. here's what's bothering me

The main character is just not likeable .theres so much whiny self introspection- if the wife had a female nanny NONE of the things that he's whining about would even be considered - even the wife's behavior and attitude doesn't make a lot of sense . And frankly I don't care what happens . I'm so sad .

A story I needed to hear

This has always been a fantasy of mine and to hear it come to life just kept me even more intrigued. This story helped me escape from the real world for at least a total of 10 Hours. A true romantic will love this!!!

Family Matters

This seems like a case where family matters in a completely different way. Everyone in this story cares about the kids but they don't always agree on what that needs to look like. I got frustrated at times on how their personal relationship was run over by others. But it was worth pushing through to the wonderful ending to this story. I listened to the audio version and it was very well done.

as great as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Michael Ferraiuolo is one of the top 5 narrators for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow.
I'm just not yet finish with the book, just over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Great performance, but DNF

I have loved a lot of L.A.Witt's books, and Michael is a favorite narrator of mine, so I came into this book expecting to like it... but I really didn't. Michael does a fantastic job narrating, and I only listened to as much of this story as I did because of him. Otherwise, it just frustrated me so much!
Firstly, Tiffany is awful and irrational, and no one seems to notice. They all agree with her on everything, even in their own heads, even when she's being ridiculous. This made the MCs feel shallow (or maybe just spineless and stupid) unable to think for themselves. In reality, people would at the very least question the logic of some of the things she was demanding of them.
As an extension of that, the very idea of someone (man or otherwise) being asked to shadow the nanny so they can get to know their kids' routines before being left alone with them, is stupid. Putting aside the fact he's their dad, he has met the kids before, they get along, he's proven he's good with kids and has even raised one before, and has proven himself trustworthy, so he wouldn't need to do more than ask the nanny a few questions, maybe get a print out of bedtimes and basic routines, then he could wing the rest. That the DAD felt upset about being asked to shadow the nanny for indefinitely, before he's allowed alone with his own kids, just because he doesn't know their routines, is stupid. And it has nothing to do with male pride being hurt. That even other male characters put this down to fragile male ego, was even more ridiculous. I know the premise needed the MCs to spend time together, but this could've been done in a more logical way, or at the very least they could've acknowledged in their own heads, how stupid Tiffany was being in asking this.
Anyway, maybe the real problem was that I just couldn't connect to any of the characters, or understand anything they thought or did. They didn't feel real, and too much of what they thought felt like plot conveniences, so I just couldn't enjoy the story.
This was a bit of a harsh review, but I still love Witt's style and Michael's narration. This book was just a pass for me.

I loved this!

Sizzling hot with fantastic characters, I was enthralled from the beginning. The chemistry is very convincing and family dynamics added brilliant dimension to the story. I loved this.
