Story
I’ve been in this life for 50 years, been trying to work out its riddle for 42, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last 35. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me.

Inspiring Story
Although this book was a little slow starting, I loved it. The reader quickly gets into the author's 'head' to live vicariously through her with all her hopes and dreams. I found it a 'page turner' and I am sure my car got some extra miles when I would come to an interesting part and I was a block from home. I found the book particularly interesting because I know the author and I have had a couple of opportunities to see her magic act (she's a magician - a very good one). The road to such a career is rocky to say the least and Romany is inspiring in her quest to become one of the best!

Romany spins pure magic
I had no idea what an adventure Romany could take me on with her wild tales of a journey to find her own source of magic. She spins a tale that entrances, and her reading voice lures me in, mesmerizing as a spell.
I hate to pause the track for anything, as the many twists and turns in this life journey keep me desperate to know what comes next. I feel the magic seeping out all around me, spreading and catching like wildfire.
I suspect that after hearing this tale, anyone who listens will be a bit more magical themselves.
It’s not all fairy tales though. Romany shares the raw and vulnerable, very real side of her struggle, as she moves through each unbelievable adventure.
Thanks for sharing your story, Romany.

A Genius Performance From A Magical Superstar
Over the last five years as a monthly subscriber to Audible, I have been lucky enough to listen to some of the greatest audiobooks ever made. This is one of them and it may remain my number one. The way Romany tells her story is almost cinematic. She brings all the characters to life with her range of voices and each scene, from Fire Dances to David Copperfield's personal museum draws the reader in to see and feel everything Romany experiences.
Romany's journey to the top of her profession in Las Vegas and 6* cruises as a stage and cabaret magician is tough, funny, heartbreaking and, yes, magical. There is a subplot too which Romany calls her 'shame'. I won't spoil it for the reader or listener, but her goal to create the perfect magic show and deliver the flawless, standing ovation performance is achieved by incredibly hard work and by battling her demons. Some of the decisions she makes and the global trips she takes to learn from the very best are audacious and courageous. This is one very brave lady but one you can also have a giggle with.
I certainly understood why there are so few world-class female magicians but Romany and her story are unique. I listened to this in four nights as I was so so captivated. I didn't want it to finish but then again I remembered to 'Be careful what you wish for'. 'Spun into Gold' deserves to be a mega success for this magical entertainer at the very top of her game. Thank you, Romany/

You'll finish it and listen again
Romany is a natural storyteller who sweeps you along in her moving joyous journey through light and darkness to success, all along the way showing how you also can get to where you want to go. Its an autobiography, and adventure, a good deal of self help and empathy all rolled into one and dusted with feathers and sequins. A book for everyone who needs a lift, everyone who has a dream they're afraid to follow and anyone who ever wanted to be a magician. Her abiding belief in magic and it's being everywhere runs through and sweeps you up along the bath, a joy to listen to

The story of Romany’s rise to one of the top female magicians is a real “page turner”. Her soothing voice was my companion while I was going on my daily bike rides. A beautifully spun magical tale
This is a brilliant book, perfectly told by the author. Hearing it in her own words brings it alive in an engaging way. It's like you're sat next to her as she recounts her story.
I laughed (lots) and cried (a few times). Her honesty and openess in dealing with her struggles are heartbreaking at times, however sharing them will help others I know.
It's a truly inspirational book, which encouraged me to think about where I want/need to make changes in my life to achieve the dreams I have. Romany equips you with a few "magic" secrets on how you can reach your dreams and goals just as she has.
Highly recommended!!!

An inspiration for anyone who dared to dream
This was my first ever audio book and boy am I glad it was. This book is for anyone who dared to dream a dream. Romany provides a very real and relatable account of how dreams can come true if you stay true to yourself and are willing to persist despite obstacles and barriers being in your path. I think what I loved most was hearing Romany, rather than a narrator tell her story. I am left feeling like I really know her, despite us never having actually met which is just such a gift.
I listened to this on the way to and from work every day for a week and a half and am not exaggerating when I say that it has changed my life. I found much of what Romany spoke of totally relatable. Like her, I have found myself caught up and working in a corporate/Government job, yet yearn of one day living a creative life and possibly supporting myself financially through doing this. Romany has given me hope - hope that this is possible if I manifest it and keep working towards making it a reality. For this alone I thank Romany and urge anyone else dreaming of creating a new reality for themselves (or perhaps just wanting to focus in on what is important in their lives) to buy her book and soak up the wisdom and beautiful energy that is Romany Romany

An Inspiring Story of Perseverance and Triumph
I couldn't stop listening! Romany's story is told with such honesty, grit and humour that you can't help but fall in love with her. So many adventures, so much torment and ultimately, so much hope is woven throughout. I love that the author reads her own work too - there's a much stronger connection to the story when you know it's being told by the one who lived it. Highly recommended.

I couldn't stop listening! So much magic!
I got this book because a friend suggested it to me, I was not expecting it to be so darn amazing.
Romany is such a delightful storyteller, I felt like I was there with her!
I could so relate to her struggles, her setbacks, and her drive to live her dream.
I cried, I cheered, I laughed,
I love the life lessons, life magic she learnt along the way.
It was such a good reminder in so many ways the power we have to achieve our dreams.
If you have a big dream for your life and love a bit of glitter or glam, you will love this book!
I feel Romany is also such a wonderful Narrater, her voice was so delightful to listen too!

Story
An element of drama has always attended Rupert Everett, even before his rise to fame. He has spent his life surrounded by extraordinary people, and has witnessed extraordinary events. He was in Moscow during the fall of communism; in Berlin the night the wall came down; and at home in downtown Manhattan on September 11th. By the age of 17 he was friends with Andy Warhol and Bianca Jagger. Since then he has been up close and personal with some of the most famous women in the world.

Story
When childhood sweethearts Justine (Sagittarius and serious skeptic) and Nick (Aquarius and true believer) bump into each other as adults, a life-changing love affair seems inevitable. To Justine, anyway. Especially when she learns Nick is an astrological devotee, whose decisions are guided by the stars, and more specifically, by the horoscopes in his favorite magazine. The same magazine Justine happens to write for. As Nick continues to not fall headlong in love with her, Justine decides to take Nick’s horoscope, and Fate itself, into her own hands.
