It is not the end!

Yes, there is a flavor of a finale, without giving anything away, you will realize with the new developments, the storyline has opened a whole new direction for our favorite characters. I did check on E J Copperman site to assure myself and discovered Berkeley publishing has decided not to renew this series but another publishing house has opted the series for at least 2 more books, hopefully many more. Yay, big sigh of releif. The next in the series currently scheduled for 2018.

I adore this series it's fun, with great repartee between the character. Equal parts mystery and fantasy, throw in some snark wonderfully portrayed by the talented Amanda Ronconi and you're in for a rollicking good time! The books are stand alone but if you want to thoroughly enjoy this series start at the beginning. If you love paranormal mysteries with humorous repartee this series is a must. Stop reading if you are sold. Not sold yet, consider this...after sustaining a bump on the head you can suddenly see and talk to ghosts, and these ghosts can contact other ghost, one of these books has John Lennon and "friends" jamming in your bed breakfast. One of the ghost isn't wild about how you are decorating your house and employs inventive way of expressing displeasure, one a frustrated detective knocked off on his very first case. If ever I need my "spirits" lifted l find myself frequently revisiting this favorite ghost series. Guaranteed fun!

More Please

I love E.J. Copperman, let's just start there. The haunted guesthouse mysteries are wonderful and this latest add especially heartwarming. We get to meet the Swine and the ex lives up to his reputation in fine form. Dead bodies, identity theft, and lets not forget the fraud and all the lies. Lies on top of lies! The man is truly hopeless. I felt bad for Melissa, but hey, she's a smart kid. Wise beyond her years. All the dead people she listens to, no doubt.

I can't tell where this series is headed from here, and I can't wait to find out. The characters are consistent and feel like friends in no time. Even Maxi.

And the narration! Amanda Ronconi does an amazing job. She's become one of my favorite narrators.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

I have read all the ghost books. This one really needed a better editor. Otherwise, an enjoyable book.

Great cozy. Very funny.

This whole sereis is very enjoyable and this instalment is one of the best. the humor is the most important part in my view, combine with likable believable characters, including the not so alive ones, and a twisted plot and you get a really enjoyable fun read. The narrator does a great job emphasizing the sarcasm. lots of resolutions in this one, i hope the sereis will continue.

Another great story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because as with the other books in the guest house series, this one delivers with the continuation of the fun characters as they face yet another murder mystery.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. It kept evolving and kept my interest as things progressed into various directions.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

Maxi is always my favorite character, but I love Melissa because she's so smart!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Paul was finally able to move on. That was emotional because I knew how important it was for him.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next one in this series!

Cute but moves slow

This audiobook moves slow but is OK story. Narrator has a grating voice but stick with it because she gets better. I'm going to listen to book 2 and will leave a review.

Cozy conclusion.

This is what seems to be the conclusion to the series. And a satisfying conclusion it is, even if the story itself (I'm sad to say) is not as good as I'd hoped. Too much of "The Swine" and an overly long and suspension of disbelief stretching showdown.

I choose to view this book as a part of the series and thus I see it in a more positive light. I've enjoyed the series. The irreverent humor and Amanda Ronconi's great narration in particular.

If Copperman decides to continue the series in spite of the "end of the series" feeling, I don't think I'll read any more books.
