Publisher's summary

We've created this audiobook to help children with spelling, grammar, and spelling bee preparedness. This book provides 16 weeks of 4 days of practice with a 5th day to see what they have learned. It is important to acknowledge any improvement they have made no matter how big their win. I am sure this goes without saying as we all have known children who excel in spelling naturally and those that have to really put in the time to make progress like I did.

According to edutopia.org, solid research has shown that spelling instruction has improved performance in reading fluency and comprehension. It even showed that the practice of spelling helps the child's ability to read more than reading helps their spelling. In fact, it is so helpful in development that there is a strong connection between the ability to spell with ease and writing with eloquence. Fluent handwriting skills and being able to spell easily sets the foundation for children to be able to construct written work.

Now that more schools are leaving out spelling, many are left with the inability to read well and think. It is our hope that this audiobook will help your child to experience more success not only in language arts but also in the ability to analyze and problem solve throughout their lives, giving them a sense of confidence and independence that sloppy thinking just can’t.

Helpful for my 2nd grader

I like having the audio version of this book because it's a way I can help my son with his spelling while I'm also doing something else like making dinner or folding laundry. I can put it on for him to practice a list each day and I'm there to help him if he's struggling to remember the spelling, but my hands are free to keep making our dinner. It's helpful and FULL of spelling lists.

Fun listen

My grandchildren and I really enjoyed listening to the book together. It really helped they hear the word in a sentence, write the word, see the word on the pdf and hear the word spelled as well. The repetition is amazing and effective. I also played the audio in the car and we would cheer when the word was spelled correctly and it was fun! There are many ways to use this audio to make learning easier and exciting! Highly recommended for families with children learning to spell.

Breaking it down for busy families

We all know the correlation between reading and spelling. Any improvement in either will boost your child's self-confidence as they keep up with, if not surpass, their peers. The practical aspects of the lessons in this book are great for both audio and visual learners. The tip for using a whiteboard is genius. Be sure to get the PDF download of the word lists.

A must have

I have homeschooled the last few years, before covid and spelling was what my son struggled the most with. I was glad to find this book because it’s really a fun way to learn. I liked that the words are repeated and put in a sentence to make sense out of it, and then repeated without spelling to allow the child to test his knowledge. The music is great, the book content was appropriate, with easy-to-understand instructions lesson plan. Great confidence builder for your reluctant reader. A must have!!!

Quality lessons

Bought this for our friend's daughter who wants to compete in her elementary school's spelling bee, and she's been listening constantly! At 7 hours, its definitely packed with enough content for her to keep memorizing. Would recommend for anyone with a second grader interested in spelling, or even ambitious first graders!

Good book for students

This is a good book for students. Spelling can be a challenge for those kids just starting out. This book has 16 weeks laid out to help that along and get your child in the habit of studying and using all of their senses including writing the word, saying the word, hearing it multiple times and writing it again. This is a great way to learn how to spell words and a good setup for success.

So easy!

Everything is so simple and to follow! The way it's set up you could play it for your child so they can follow along and then just supervise and check their work as you go.

Parents of pre-teens will love this

This is a useful audiobook for parents who have the intention of helping their kids build their vocabulary as well as improve their spelling and grammar. I appreciate the detailed guidance provided to parents to maximize the benefits of using the book.

Parents will use this book to help keep their children engaged while they are learning. I think also that this self-directed approach along with the appropriate support from adults is an effective method of building skills and self-discipline in children - attributes that will pay dividends later.

Great way to get to prepare kids

I picked up this audiobook to prepare a few of my cousins for school, but not in the way you expect. Yes, this audiobook is absolutely incredible for teaching them how to spell and the correct way syntax, however, the hidden reason I picked this up is because I want to teach them the possibilities of learning on their OWN.

I'm teaching them that there's no need for me or their teachers to force them to learn because learning is fun, engaging, and on demand. I'm teaching them that all they have to do is pick up a book, audiobook, or online course and learn what they want when they want while enjoying it!

That's what makes this audiobook so special! The voice of the narrator is engaging and inviting. The musical breaks in-between words ease the mind and you even get a little dance from them when thinking lol.

Imagine that...the kids turned an audiobook about spelling into a group game with dancing. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

I also love how each ‘chapter’ is separated into weeks and lists.

5-star audiobook through and through! Thank you for sparking the hunger for learning in inquisitive little minds.

Perfect for the kiddos! They love the examples.

What I liked most about this audiobook were the creative examples and uses of the spelling words in sentences. They were always age-appropriate, happy, and cheerful. My kiddos' favorite section was List 3 Day 5, and they unanimously decided that their favorite word of the day was "between" because "it sounds cool."
The narration was spot-on and gave the impression of a school teacher. Highly recommend to any parent of a 2nd grader if you want easy supplemental spelling and grammar practice!
