if you call your book speed run through the multiverse. . . I expect a fast paced book. it's was kinda that. . but at the start of this book his time to beat was something like 540+ years. . . . this book takes place over a period of 3 weeks or so.
so it's not a bad book but it makes the wrong promises at the start of the book and for me at least that loses points.

speed. . no . . but its ok.

this series up to book 3 was good (4 isn't out yet) I like the world building the characters are diverse the only thing I dislike is the Mc's power and personality in the first 2 seem a little of like bro was trying to speed run but didn't skip all the cut scenes also he knows how to handle people but not enough to become friends even if it's just to manipulate

Good story good characters

I liked it, it's just that I am having trouble reconciling the way he acts, if speed is everything, as he keeps saying. Then some of the choices he did, seemed weird to me. Sometimes someone matters, then they don't. He says no to offers that will greatly increase his speed at least surface level. The character feels a little inconsistent,

I kept expecting him to see the errors of his ways due to some reason out of his control. And start forging bonds, helping those around him. Due to some of the choices he made, so there would be some kind of redemption for his character.

Since he never did I don't know why the break in character was added in the story. Still going to get the next book as I devour books regularly for background noise and the narrator did good. The overall story arc wasn't that interesting, not that much humor either so it looks like it's really just about getting to the end fast, and no deeper stuff.

It's good, but..

Really like the cultivation details. It was fun watching Dorian get stronger. The characters were interesting and acted mostly reasonable. I also like how detached Dorian was and how that effected him and people around him. If you were an all powerful god you wouldn't care about someones sister or tribe you were using to spring board back into godhood. It took a bit to get used to but made sense in the story. As a reader you have a bit of an attachment to IO's family and tribe and so Dorian's coldness can be off putting at first but I thought it was a nice detail. And I look forward to Dorian growing a bit in this sense as the story continues. Favorite character has to be Fate.

Awesome take on cultivation

Different twist, all want to see the MC struggle a bit, but be a bit wiser and have more insight then the rest. I like this approach tbh, I also understand why some people don’t like this story, the MC doesn’t really like to have a bond with people, not even blood related.

Good stuff

I was really drawn in by the premise and the narrator did an excellent job. However, the story was difficult to enjoy because of a key piece of information that is revealed too slowly. This information fundamentally changes how you view the main character, and for me, it ruined the early parts of the story.

The main character's actions often seemed cold and uncaring, which made it hard to understand his motivations.

SPOILER ALERT: The following section contains crucial plot information that may be a spoiler for some readers.

A major element of the story is that the main character is a god who is "speedrunning" a series of mortal "alt characters" that he doesn't truly care about. His goal is to level them up as fast as possible so they can "ascend" to godhood and become his new godly body. The "alts" are seen as completely expendable.

I feel that if this had been explained in the book's description or at the beginning of the book, I would have enjoyed it more. Instead, it was frustrating to watch a protagonist act so callously without understanding his perspective.

Once the truth is revealed, his actions become understandable, but they are still morally repugnant. It's like watching a kid play a game and use other people as tools, but in a world with real lives and consequences. This made it very hard for me to like the main character and ultimately ruined the experience.

If you are a reader who dislikes a protagonist who is morally apathetic and cold, this may not be the right book for you. However, if you're okay with a ruthless main character, the story itself is an outstanding cultivation novel in every other aspect.

Main Character is too Uncaring to others

The negative reviews almost put me off but I decided to give it a shot and it was really good. Yeah the main character is cold, but I think the story does a good job of revealing why he’s like this.

Idk why people are giving it bad reviews

In most cultivation novels the main character slowly learns more and more about their powers and the power system, but our main character innately knows everything already, so the story becomes about how he races up the power scale. Very much enjoyed this, and the narration was solid.

Very fun take on cultivation
