Narrator Ruined It!!

Not only did it feel like Siri was reading to me, but she got characters names wrong! She calls Jake "Jack" at one point and called Lincoln "Cole". It was a good thing I knew who the characters were going into it. This story is incredible and does an amazing job developing a character who in all the previous books was so aloof and turning him into someone you fell in love with. I suggest reading this one rather than listening....

The one we waited for

Someone Like You is the story of Lincoln, the suave, debonaire playboy we've heard about for several books. But observant characters (and readers!) in the Oxford series nevertheless suspected there might be hidden shadows behind his devil-may-care attitude. Someone Like You pulls back the smokescreen and reveals a man tormented by pain and loss. But a new light, in the form of Daisy, appears in his life and offers him a chance to live and love again. This volume was cleverly left out of the Audible Romance package, but I knew there was a story worth hearing, and I have no regrets about buying it separately. All of the couples in Lauren Layne's Oxford series have to fight for their happily-ever-afters, and this story, like the rest, was delightfully crafted and left me with a happy sigh of contentment.

Horrible Reader

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I cannot listen to this book. I feel like Siri is reading to me. I am going to have to read it instead. I wish I could get a refund it is so bad. I am only on chapter 3.

Outstanding Read, So-So Narration

I loved the story and yes I teared up. It was perfect.

The narrator really needs to work on delivery. It was stiff and without the feeling in the first two audio books of the series. That said, it is still a good book.

Felt like Siri was reading to me

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator was terrible. I was really looking forward to Lincoln's story, but found it hard to enjoy the book because I was focusing on the delivery too much.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lincoln was a complex character, which I knew from the previous books. Learning about why he lived the way he did and experiencing his transformation was satisfying.

How could the performance have been better?

A 10 year old child could have done better. I will NEVER listen to another audio book performed by this person.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A better narrator. I really felt cheated.

Any additional comments?

Worth the listen, but be prepared to think your iPhone is reading it to you.

Worst Reader Ever

I have bought numerous audio book companions through Amazon's "add audible narration" feature. This is by far the worst. The voice sounds like a robot talking. There is no intonation or emotion in the voice. Please never hire this person again as the narrater. I wish I could get my money back because I can't stand to listen to the voice and have now just settled on reading. Bad job Audible, your standards were definitely lowered to the bottom of the barrel when you decided to sell this narration.

Good series

I really like this series. The narrator was a little mechanical. Lincoln was my favorite of the characters.
